  1. It's that common? on Amazon 'Reviewing' Its Website After It Suggested Bomb-Making Items (nytimes.com) · · Score: 0

I have a hard time believing that so many people are building bombs that the algorithm picked up on the item combinations. And you're really going to build one based on the suggestions of a website without knowing what you're doing? You know what, go for it. That will end well.

Btw I'm glad England is super duper safe with their strict gun control laws. They're working great to protect the public with all these chemical attacks, bombings, and stabbings.

  2. Time to broaden the definition on Google Chrome Most Resilient Against Attacks, Researchers Find (helpnetsecurity.com) · · Score: 1

It literally synchronizes malicious adware and malware extensions across multiple devices automatically. They're doing nothing about bad plugins and extensions either and that is what affects the majority of end users. So it's basically the least secure.

  3. I checked. Avast bought Piriform like 2 months ago.

  4. First of all, I'm fairly certain it's made by Piriform, not Avast. Second, it absolutely, unequivocally makes your computer slower with its default options. I mean deleting thumbnail cache? That's idiotic! So in that sense it absolutely is malware and always has been. But hopefully they get absolutely destroyed in court and get jail time so they shut down. I cannot stand their products.

  5. There's closed and then there's prison on Linux Foundation President Used MacOS For Presentation at Open Source Summit (itsfoss.com) · · Score: 1

So you've got nice and open Linux, then you've got relatively locked down but still pretty freedom-oriented Windows. Then a million miles away in a different dimension and outside the observable universe you've got Apple as a company and all their garbage products by extension. But you guys know how Apple fanboys are. They're stuck in 2004 when owning Apple products made you better than everyone else and everyone was so jealous of your ability to spend money you don't have.

  6. this wouldn't work on Can The Pirate Bay Replace Ads With A Bitcoin Miner? (betanews.com) · · Score: 1

First, the browser would slow down to a crawl and the site would be barely navigable. Second, every time you click a link it would reload the javascript libraries and re-start the miner. Third, any major browser would ask you to shut down the script because of performance issues. Fourth, 1,000 people mining on their CPUs for about 5 minutes while they're at their site would make like a dollar. A 2nd gen i7 at full blast makes less than $0.25 PER DAY cpu mining.

  7. oh yeah? on Elon Musk Releases Supercut of SpaceX Rocket Explosions (hardocp.com) · · Score: 1

  8. Well they bought an HP on HP Users Complain About 10-Minute Login Lag During 'Win 10 Update' (theregister.co.uk) · · Score: 3, Interesting

HP doesn't believe in SSDs. I think they literally believe SSDs are just a myth. So yes, expect login delays as Windows 10 runs a small Defender scan EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU LOG IN! And don't forget indexing and superfetch. But I've noticed that there is a huge CPU bomb of a recompile after the latest update. It processed on a rather fast PC of mine for at least 5 minutes. Still, 1 CPU core and minimum I/O hit on the SSD meant I could still operate the computer at least.

  9. too bad they missed Newegg on Trump Blocks China-Backed Takeover of US Chip Maker 'Lattice Semi' (cnn.com) · · Score: 1

It's a shame that newegg's sale to some Chinese douchebags wasn't blocked. That was an absolute disgrace and had US security concerns.

  10. ridiculous on Facebook Enabled Advertisers To Reach 'Jew Haters' (propublica.org) · · Score: 1

So removing that category also removed them from existence and removes their profile data? Wow, who knew? In fact it magically makes racism go away by plugging your ears and pretending you don't hear it. That's SJW logic right there. By the way, "jew haters" buy products too.

  11. I have an idea on Apple's 'Shoddy' Beats Headphones Get Slammed In Lawsuit (theregister.co.uk) · · Score: 0

Can we sue the people who bought them just simply for being that stupid? In fact, can Apple sue for that? Beats and Apple are toxic brand names in the last 5 years in case they haven't been paying attention.

  12. When I play a matchmaking game like Mech Warrior Online I do push ups or sit ups between each match for like 2 minutes and it actually does help. It reduced my back problems, helped my energy level, etc.

  13. But what does Trump think on What's Causing The Hurricanes? (yahoo.com) · · Score: 0

I'm honestly wondering if he'll finally admit climate change is real now and not a scam made up by the Chinese lizard people illuminati or whatever the hell he blames it on currently. We sort of need to do something about it RIGHT NOW so he should get a freaking clue.

  19. Never did it break $5000 on a major exchange and it's sitting at like $2650 right now. Hurray for accurate journalism. Take one tiny little spike and report it as the norm as if it's real.

When I'm posting something anonymously, I swap cuz/cause and don't put commas before a "lol" and single space my sentences and don't use an oxford comma and use semicolons incorrectly on purpose. All you have to have is a basic awareness of how it works and you can avoid it. I blame him for not being cautious enough.

  25. How does that work? on New Kind of Gravitational Wave Source Detected? (nature.com) · · Score: 2

I heard they don't have enough detectors to triangulate the source based on speed of light delays. Also the reason we can't find meteors headed towards us is because we can't watch 100% of the sky at a time; not even close in fact. So combine those two facts and how do they have any remote idea whatsoever what the source might have been?
