Nonstandard? Really? TDMA 1900/800: Cingular, AT&T, a few others. CDMA 1900/800: Sprint PCS and Verizon. iDen: Nextel. GSM 1900: Voicestream, AT&T. On most phones, these both work on international GSM.

You had to switch because Sprint uses a different technology (CDMA) than AT&T (TDMA).
It might work. AT&T is starting to do GSM, which is what the Treo uses. Just switch SIMs. Give them a call and hope you live in a GSM service area.

We've got local ISPs like that, and I believe a few of the national ISPs are the same. My old dialup got boiught out by EarthLink tho.
