If you follow the ANYONE can be a journalist, then should also follow the "ANYONE can be a...." where.... is any given profession (mechanic, web designer, traffic engineer).
That is correct. Thanks! The only people decided who is or is not what are their customers -- not the government!
Sometimes audio on flash movies will play, sometimes it won't. It usually requires only a reboot, but it still shouldn't need to.
I've had this behavior as well, and have resorted to the same resolution. Sometimes it even requires a *cold* boot to get audio back. I've noticed that this only occurs after viewing audio content through the Real Player, but does not happen every time I used Real Player.
As long as this is NOT some sticker that creates a magnetic flux in the battery via the Hotzman effect, then I will be willing to say it might not be snakeoil.
It's the flux capicitor that manages the whole thing.
I see more people carpooling (I pay the taxes, you buy the gas)...or even better, more people riding bikes (for those lucky enough to live in bike-friendly towns)
Well, if the state is not getting enough money, then the *bikes* will have GPS for taxing mileage. If people start carpooling or using public transportation, then *people* will have to have GPS on them, to be taxed individually.
This is about two things, just as with government, is it *always* about two things:
I knew my copy of "Teen Wolf II" wasn't truly widescreen. They totally mangled the majesty of what it was like when I saw it on the big screen, in all its breathtaking glory. Have they no respect for the classics?
ambiguity is enjoyable to a thoughtful person, because a thoughtful person knows that life is filled with ambiguity.
I haven't watched the BSG, because I don't have cable. I may rent it when it comes out on DVD, but I can't comment on the quality of the show.
However, I must note the back-handed condescension of your above statement. Abiguity != Thoughtful. And you don't have to feel superior becuase you like it.
I loved the first few seasons of X-Files, because of its ambiguity, but after four or five seasons it got tiresome, I kept waiting for them to make a decision and resolve something.
Ambiguity is good for building suspense, but over a long period of time it starts to feel like the writers are afraid to deliver on what they promised.
Slashdot *must* change its slogan:
A post from 24 hours ago.
"Slashdot: News for nerds about Google. Stuff that matters about Google. Rumors about what Google might do next. Google, Google. Google."

The Judge did NOT consider these bloggers journalists
Well, he's wrong.
...but are these "three online publishers" journalists?
I'll vote 'No.'
Bullshit. What is a journalist? ANYBODY can be journalist.
how many fingers to you have??
Ah.
The article implied (or I read into it) that Mozilla gave into some demand of Google's in order to get funding.
I think FireFox 1.0, with the Google start page is a great idea, even if you didn't get any money for it. So much the better that you did.
Then what restrictions did the Mozilla Foundation agree to?
Suddenly, I feel old.

Suppose a FF extension becomes really popular, and somebody finds an exploit in it?
Wait, wait! Don't tell me! Let me guess!
Is it..... um, no.
How about...... no, that's not it.
Oh, I know...
You disable the fucking extension!
You just can't take Ashlee Simpson's works and post them freely on the internet. She needs to eat too.
Ah, but does she *deserve* to eat. Frankly, with her music, I don't think she's earned it.
This guy is violating the DRM agreements that Apple set forth, so Apple could pursue him.
As explained above, the pure silence is not copyrightable, so the RIAA has no beef.
If the "song" cannot be copyrighted, then what digitially managed "rights" did he violate? What was being protected by the DRM?
Sorry, but no. As I seem to recall, there is a minimum number of notes required in order to copyright something.
Then why does it have DRM?

Recycling a joke from an earlier, non-related thread:
British Techie sitting next to server room, sipping a cup of tea: Nigel, what's that sudden buzzing sound?
Already done. It didn't work out well.
See for yourself
North Korea Pre-Invasion Checklist:
Google search for 'Vuitton' now returns zero results.
Do you have a link to this story? I'm very interested.
They made a mistake in messing up the DVD: they should incur the entire costs of replacing it.
... sure, that's what it was.
"Mistake"

That was my experiece with X-Files, anyway.
