The hardware in my mini is going to be or, as some have already pointed out, may already be outdated. I knew that when I bought it. What I didn't see coming was a massive code fork to x86, so that 2 years down the road, the newest mac software will possible be 'x86 only'. This boils my blood. I had to go through this crap with the first Windows CE devices, some software was compiled for ARM, and some for Intel, and I was always on the wrong side of whatever the program wanted to run on.
I have also paid a lot for the software I have. How long will adobe and Microsoft support the powerPC versions of their software once Apple goes Intel? I now feel like the lifespan of my machine is seriously degrading. I don't like it one bit.
I just bought a Mini, and I'm not happy about this, if it turns out to be true. So two years down the road, the powerPC architecture is going to be obselete, well that's just great.
Well, looks like MS is going to add paid shill bloggers to their list of paid shills that they use to spread propoganda. There's one in every popular message board, blindly praising MS for everything they do. It's usually easy to pick them out, they just sound fake, and never rationalize anything. I have to wonder what just how many people MS pays to pretend they like everything MS does. After all, I can't imagine anyone doing that for free.
Kinda reminds me of the way McDonalds pays rappers for rapping about the big mac. MS will pay you for writing propaganda about longhorn in your blog. Is nothing sacred?
On one part of the page it lists common ways to maximize your battery life.
Make sure to charge the battery fully and drain it fully before recharging. This will properly condition the battery and will ensure that it will operate at its maximum capacity. This is recommended for all cellphone batteries. You can discharge most cellphones by unplugging the power adapter and leaving it turned on until completely discharged.
This is NOT TRUE for lithium-ion, lithium-poly, and nickel metal hydride batteries. Letting these batteries fully discharge ruins them. You'd think a company that's done "years of research" in battery science would know this.
The PC as we know it probably only has a decade or so left.
Yawn... heard this one before. The PC will live on past the next decade, if Microsoft doesn't steer the market into the ground first with Palladium, etc.
I don't think I have to mention how mental the Japanese are over cameras. Well, most (female) Japanese also like the photobooths that give you little stickers with your photo on them. I think this printer is designed for the average japanese schoolgirl who wants to take pictures with her friends and then print them out immediately, hence the handle to carry it with you. It doesn't even look like it prints on regular 8.5x11 paper, just 35mm print size photo paper. Add in the fact that it can print from a camera phone and you've got a device that would be a hit with ganguro girls everywhere.
BTW, check out the pic of the girls of team 8, HOT!:)
play the game Mafia. It a GTA3 style game based in 1930-40s New York. You are a cab driver who gets mixed up into doing jobs for the mafia. Great storyline and is really long. It also has an upbeat swing jazz soundtrack by Django Reinhardt.
A few weeks ago I used an electronic voting machine for the first time to vote in a bid for new ammendments to the Texas constitution. Most of them were very dubious, like "If no one runs against a candidate for office, he/she is automatically installed without a race" and many other stupid things that just shouldn't be an ammendment to our constitution, a document that shouldn't be taken lightly enough to add "Churches may not pay taxes on undeveloped land owned by them" to it. I voted yes to many, but no for at least half. Stepping away I remembered all the controversy surrounding these devices and I was this close to just asking if I could use a paper ballot instead (but I'm not even sure if they would have allowed that.) My paranoia was confirmed a few days later when I learned that EVERY ONE of the ammendments passed. I didn't get to see the brand name on the voting machine, but I am now in full-on fear mode after seeing these electronic election candidates win by a landslide more often than not.
The Gameboy SP is much better than the original advance in every way, except one: no earphone jack. What the hell was nintendo thinking? Every GB ever made has had one of those, now they just decide to leave it off? This was a deal breaker for me, and just because of that alone, I have to give it a thumbs down.
This is the last thing I need. I like Tivo bacause it allows me to skip commercials and record what I want, when I want. Take those things away, and it's just more media whoreishness.
You guys have no sense of humor. I never have mod points when I see a travesty of modding such as this.
You go, daeley. Your post was simply..... Scrumtrulescent.
Something big is about to happen.
And I, for one, couldn't give less of a crap.
Rightists have aligned themselves with judeo-christianfascist theocracies that are the direct antithesis of their purported values.
Couldn't help but correct your sig there, you were WAY off.

As entertaining as Conan O'Brian is, how far into the keynote video in the crash? Watching Gates talk for too long makes me dry-heave.

And I'm sure that by rock-star standards they aren't that rich. You don't see them endorsing Pepsi.

goldstein?
Please explain.
What's next? Nuts & Gum? (Together at last!)
:P)
Maple syrup soda perhaps? (I actually had this idea years before The Simpsons did it, so they stole it from me.

I think a litmus test for all future court cases should be: "If the case is brought by the Church of Scientology, it must have no merit."
Windows uses less memory to do this trick than Linux. Who knew Windows was so efficient at handling memory when being hacked?

She was probably 'substantially persuaded' by huge sacks of money from the MP/RIAA.

Where else can you find free repositories of porn, sectioned off into seperate areas, from leather to hamsters? Usenet rocks.

Want to demonize something but have now real information to back it up? Just say it fund terrorism, works every time!

"PC Load Letter? What the fuck does that mean?" /Office Space
Well, yeah. It takes a lot of juice to watch DivX movies on a C-64, you know.
