This is halfway on topic, talking about crappy software. I hate it when software is not multi-user aware:
Broderbund and Maxis are infamous for this. Both "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 15" and "The Sims" require you to run as Administrator.
There is absolutely NO FUCKING REASON why any app -- except for certain system utilities (and games and typing tutors aren't those) -- should require Admin. It's fucking lazy sloppy programming.
I thought only Media Associations such as the MPAA and the RIAA, as well as the major Networks (and ClearChannel) were allowed to post content. The rest of us are either Consumers(tm), or Evil Content Pirates(tm).
Stan: Oh my God! They Slashdotted LinuxJournal!
Cartman: You bastards!
Don't forget the great Heinlein quote on innovation/protectionism as well.
Free Food? I didn't even know Food was in prison! What was he charged with?
You mean like GNU/Sex?
So now there's an gnuse.cx as well as goatse.cx?
Well, I guess if they were ICMP packets complying with RFC 1149, they probably would hurt if thrown hard...
And obviously EV1 wasn't wearing their Joo-Jaglan Peril Sensitive Sunglasses, or they would have gone black just before signing... :-)
Darl figures we've been listening to Warren Zevon, and were going to send "Lawyers, Guns and Money" to the Harvard Law talk.
Except that that would actually be:
FM;CFF:R;CORD:FZ30948265:TYPE:PERS/INF;
FM;FIRE;AA0001;
FM;CFF:U;-100M;
FM;FIRE;AA0001;
Or some such. It's been a while since I did ARTY control software; computer message syntax is from memory, and has probably changed.

If there ever is another Civil War in my lifetime,
So what makes it "Civil" war?
"Excuse me, dude. But would you mind holding still while I shoot you?"
But... What about IBM's lawyers who are heroically defending the Free World(r) against SCO?
Thank you.
I have served on three juries (including one as foreman). I could easily have "beaten the system" and gotten out of it, but I considered it my duty.
After all, if I wind up on trial for something, I don't want a jury of "12 people not smart enough to get out of jury duty".
Hey, my NT4 Server box said "Minimum Requirements: 16MB, 33MHz CPU!
Plus, ATTWS botched (and for all I know, may still be botching) the Number Portability thing.
I had ATTWS TDMA service (Nokia 5160) in a major metropolitan area (Los Angeles).
They had large coverage holes, including one about half a mile from my house. Needless to say, as soon as my contract was up, I switched.
I switched from SprintPCS to AT&T BECAUSE of AT&T's coverage
Funny... I switched from ATTWS to Sprint for the exact same reason.
According to Appendix B of RotK, He was 90 at the beginning of the Fourth Age. He died in FA 120 at the age of 210.
I thought that in the US, the truth was an absolute defense against libel?
I believe that in the UK and other countries, that might not be the case.
Disclaimers: IANAL (nor do I play on on TV). IAN British.
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, DVDs are evil.
No, I just work in base 15 :-).
<MR-ROGERS>
Can you say typo? I knew you could.
</MR-ROGERS>
It jacks up their stock in their Pump&Dump scheme.
And in other news, the Miami Dolphins actually won a superbowl!
I think you're about 22 years too late (SuperBowl VI - 1972).
click.... heh heh heh

I know this is so, because the RIAA told me this!
Loved the ADM-5 terminal. Used to use those and ADM-3A terminals in the Crown Stat Lab up at UC Santa Cruz.
