I have a serious issue with someone who has sworn to uphold and protect a document knowingly commiting an act that violates it. I would love a rule/law where when a public servant has voted positively for enough ( 3 , 5 ) items that get overturned as unconstitutional that they would lose their rights to be a public servant.
Of course, since this was passed by a state law, which are reserved under the federal constitution to be allowed to do quite a bit, I am not certain which constitution we are in violation of here.
This really proves alot about this article. I agree with you on the feel of the straight line power of these motors, but I now have a 3.5 liter that produces over 300 hp. It was a long time coming for engine manufacturers to get 1 HP / cubic inch in a normally asperated engine. So now a standard mid sized family car can actually jump off the line and take a beautiful 60's muscle car no problem , and the new cars can steer and stop as an added bonus.
I do wish I could work on it, but the mileage and performance took some real interesting tech.
this is often the beginning of the bad attitude seen coming from admins. A developer who has the option of blaming the admin for the failure ( while just finding a way to get it done ) can be endlessly frustrating. Obviously the problem with the app is a problem with the server, as the app is running on the server. This will lead to admins asking for the detailed instructions as an act of self preservation. If your admins are asking for these specific details on how you want your system and environment, and requesting a document for these details, the admin has likely been burned and wants to have something to point to when the developer needs a scapegoat at the deadline.
without anything solid to back this up, I will give you the expanation that I have received for this exact question.
The amount of mercury in the compact flourescent bulb is less than the amount of mercury used in the creation and powering of incandescent bulbs over their lifetime. There is a potential hidden advantage to the compact bulb in that the mercury is contained, which is less harmful than the mercury spewed into the air by the power plant that powered the older bulb.
Less than perfect, but a good start and better than doing nothing.
I see the same inpatience quite often, and the crying wolf aspect has unfortunately caused me to ignore the lights mulitple times. If I see a cop with lights on from a distance, then I will yield of course. In the case where the lights come on part way into an intersection, I don't trust the truth of the emergency, and I have the right of way. If i do get pulled over for this I would gladly take the issue to court... the defense is simple... if there truly was an emergency, then there would not have been time to stop me for correctly utilizing my right of way.
actually, even with ambulances and firetrucks, this statement is not accurate. The moment that a impact occured while an emergency vehicle is traveling against a red light, the "due regard" was not followed. If there had been "due regard" , the wreck would not have happened.
Poor people have little to do with this. If someone is truly poor, then buying a coke would be a splurge anyhow, not a daily event. If this ends up driving HFCS out of the market and increasing the health of every person that has the crap forced into every product in the store, then i think the money saved on health is a just expense.
The wasted food that could have gone to the poor of the world is also nonsense. Plenty of corn in the US goes to waste every year. We are not allowed to feed the poor in many parts of the world as our genetically modified product isnt considered safe.
Look for these arguments until BP has their own brand of corn.
Yes, but there is always some Jackass in marketing who loves having the newest bells and whistles on day one, and lo and behold, it isnt always backwards compatible. Then when they cant get things to their friends that they are showing off, their friends start pushing IT for upgrades to office out of need to collaborate. Of course, telling Jackass #1 to remove his crap and use a standard is difficult if there was no policy against this in the first place.
This kind of moratorium is better business sense than I would ever expect out of government.
The problem lies in the fact that it had not been given away for free _yet_ . There are people that pay fox to give away the content so that people watching the content will see the commercials of those paying. Now, if half of the people who would have watched the show decide not to because they already saw it 12 days before it aired, then those people paying probably wouldnt. FOX stands to lose enough from this scenario that they will be coming after this person hard. The fact that it will be an inside source makes this more important for them to stop it as it will continue indefinitely, and all those advertisers will be chased off.
Now, after it has aired for "free", i strangely have no interest in these things being protected, as I watch it on VCR, or tivo, or one of many other devices (youtube) that can allow me to skip. There is the case of several ads that still get played while I am distracted with other tasks, or need a break.
ya, this sucks, but it isn't so bad as you say. If the laptop is an extra to the point that you can install an OS that you don't have confidence in getting completely installed then you have nothing to lose. I have had great luck with using wrappers in the past. Even when I did not have a clue what that meant. The machine you are working on is a spare, with no critical data, so even if you totally screw up the OS somehow, just re-install and try again. Follow some directions, as vague and snobbish as they are, and just keep throwing mud at the wall til something sticks. At some point, that wireless is going to work. You can take a look at what is happening and you will now "know" how to get this to work. If you want to spend time getting to know something, this can likely be done in an afternoon, or if you choose my way of learning, a night of boozing ( just write down what you did) .
It seems that most of the things they mention can be done on the phone of any person who is interested in this capablility. The display might be different... but pumping my phone output to a screen, where I can bring my phone to my next car with me, seems like a much better idea than a completely integrated system.
I am not sure how they believe that this is forward looking. It seems to me that the Bills missed the boat by a few years.
I would agree with this if I got a free car charger also. Every time I buy a phone, I have to spend the extra $30 - $50 for this accessory.
Getting extra batteries to charge during the occasions that I am home would be an option I guess, but those are even more non-standard and expensive.
My last option is just suck it up and stay locked in to a single vendor, until that vendor decides to again change all the charger ports, no matter how inferior the product becomes.
Creating a standard pin and having a built in cost of a few pennies per phone seems to be the best option on the table.
I wanted to say the exact same thing, but I got here late. When a managed hosting provider runs a study that determines peoples health is decreased by site unavailability, it isn't hard to make the leap to the sales position for redundant servers per data center with geographic load balancing to a backup cluster. It may quadruple your hosting bills and maybe backrupt you, but you customers will live longer.
so everyone is using the same.4 key in there passwords. seems to make it easier to guess that way. unless of course there are several.1 keys laying around.
What scares me is how apathetic I am to the cheating. I am certain that is not only those evil republicans who are rigging the election. There has been a focus on a few locations where they probably cheated better, and have come close to the line of getting caught.
In the end, I dont like either of the big parties. If some behind the scenes wrangling is what is required to win now, an argument can be made that the election is a practical exam of manuvering and behind the scenes quiet manipulation. Getting into office may not be based on votes, but by who can arrange best.
Int the end, the cheaters suck, but it doesnt matter who won... they would have been cheating too.
There were unofficial patches and a few registry tweaks to the chip drivers that eliminated the protection checking. Then a player software had to be found that did not take over the protection after it detected that the hardware protection had been eliminated.
We always had full color and display available on the tv screen ( minus the resolution of course). The player would present its frame, but the screen where the movie should be, full screen or partial, remained dark.
I am far too lazy to research the chipsets and players we went through, as this was some time back (2001,2002 range) . There was quite a large amount of discussion boards dedicated at the time, and the final result was copy protection.
This is how my wife felt, until she tried to watch a DVD that she owned, on a tv she owned, using a laptop that she had purchased the DVD drive in for the purpose of watching movies (this was several years back). When she wanted to use a large screen and not hunch over the laptop, a simple S-video cable out to the tv showed the desktop of the laptop. Unfortunately, all of the content in the dvd playing program came out black. When I explained that this is DRM and its uses, that the maker was more worried about the potential of her making a vhs copy than her ability to watch the movie unless she went out and purchased their "approved" hardware, she changed her mind quickly.
I don't dislike DRM because I like free stuff. I dislike DRM because it artificially limits me. Before an argument about license and legitimate restrictions comes up, remember that I have to pay again if I lose or break my copy. The media companies need to decide that I own something, or that I license something, and give the rights to the consumer that correspond to the situation. They cant limit me based on the situation and change the rules only with the concern of screwing me for every penny.
I am not sure if you are misinterpreting me, or if I just did not give out full information as I only worded my response as is relevnat to the original post's question of why are slashdrones hostile towards diabetics. My answer had to do with some people continuing a bad behavior at a negative cost to others.
As for your wife, I wish her the best and hope for the best outcome possible. I only hinted at this, but your situation is exactly what I believe insurance is for... large, unexpected situations. If someone is generally healthy and trying to take care of themselves and get struck with some bad luck then by all means I am willing to help. My feeling is for the situation where someone finds out they are sick and are given an option of changing the habits that are making them sick and that will continue the disease, or another option that is continue doing what you do and take these pills to mitigate the cause. Some people choose the easy way and just take the pill and take no responsibility ( to me , IMHO...) for their actions. I chose the opposite, and I guess I was lucky. I have an absurd fear of addiction and dependance.
I am with you on the insurance and taxes. Hell, I rarely go to a doctor, and like I said, I refuse prescription treatments as often as is possible, and my insurance seems to skyrocket... with a lot of this being that some people ( and I heard them say it ) insist that everything be delivered to them.
So in the end, is my position defendable... maybe not, but this is why we get to think. I do think that personal responsibility is more important to a healthy life than medical insurance. Some people seem to think insurance and access to drugs is more important than a healthy lifestyle and a good diet.
you may want to re-read my post. the dumb ugly fatties line that you use to show my ignorance was actually me talking bad about the people who are blindly spewing hate. Most of my points were in direct agreement with what you were saying, although my post doesnt hate me quite as much. I even mentioned that medicine for people who try controlling the disease through lifestyle is a good thing.
My point is direct and simple... there are people that want to have a quick easy fix, and they lean heavily upon others... some of whom are sacrificing some of the small pleasures in life.

the head office for the company that I work for is in texas, and I whole-heartedly agree!
Does it make things fair that the poorest 50% pay 1% of the taxes ?
It will be the next X-prize . First team to destroy the earth twice in a week gets $10 million.
