I have a more personal account of someone who had an interlock on their car and has flown right - mostly due to life changes and learning that drinking and driving affects more than just their life. The interlock devices can save lives - but them alone won't teach someone that drinking and driving is wrong.
And let's face it - most places in the USA you NEED a car to get to work at the very least. It's either that or you go the other route and just drive illegally (i.e. no insurance, no license, car not registered etc.) It happens. Better to have the person be on the legal side with an interlock than the alternative, I say.
I had a customer calling complaining that VPN was taking longer than usual. Simple tasks like email (well, Lotus Notes isn't that simple I guess) and browsing intranet pages was sluggish at best. Turns out the customer switched from a cable-based service to Clear. Her husband stated that they were saving $20 a month. I told her she's probably spending more than $20 in frustration trying to get work done.
I never used to think anything at all about giving my CC # and info over the phone. Nowadays, I'm dealing in cash for phone transactions or not at all.
Over the holidays, "famous chain pizza maker" got a call from me to order some pizza and drinks. Ten days later, my account was put on hold for fraud watch... because someone was ringing up all sorts of transactions with my card. At other pizza places. While I see the irony in this, the amounts were staggering. $30+ at same "famous chain pizza maker" (I don't eat at the same place 2 nights in a row, and will never frequent the same place twice in one week) x3, another 3 charges for $50+ at famous chain pizza maker #2, and then gourmet chain pizza maker sit-down place the person escalated charges to well over 180$ before it was stopped. I would never spend over $20 (minus tip) at "famous chain pizza maker" so those were suspicious, and I hadn't eaten at #2 for months. #3 I hadn't been to in over 2 years....
So, long story short, never give out your information over the phone. You're giving the person on the other end the PERFECT opportunity to just keep the info. I've learned my lesson, hopefully others take my story and do the same.
While I don't disagree about shops telling people about things they don't need, when a customer comes in with a beat up '80s era taurus that should have been put out to pasture a long time ago it's probably not corporate greed driving the recommendations.
Exactly. Consider 4 or 5 years ago, I was at Firestone getting new tires put on my car. There was a customer there who was told by the Firestone rep that their car needed ball joints, shocks, tires. Basically the front end had been let go long enough that all of the normal wear parts needed swapped.
The customers got new tires and maybe an oil change. And due to their budget, the cheapest of the cheap tires. Now THAT should scare everyone; because no matter how well you take care of you, someone else is typically unable to keep to that same level.
Those new limits showed up I'd say in the last 6 months; advertised heavily as saving the consumer money. Honestly though, I think that the caps probably make the companies more money in overage charges from those that aren't paying attention to what they're using.
Agreed; I have 4 older machines of the AMD single-core XP variety that are still in use in my house. I scrounged to get 1GB into my wife's machine (basic office tasks) and the others are now sitting at 768mb due to donations from a friend (a few 256MB sticks... can't beat free!)
Right - but why can't you use other sources of "waste heat" to do this work? Sunlight might not be the most readily available source of heat in certain situations.
I bought a Yamaha 950 this past year - the engine is frankly pretty smooth; well as smooth as a v-twin will get. There's some vibration through the floorboards at highway speeds, but I just put my feet up on the highway pegs and it's all good.
I've ridden near Harleys and it amazes me even at 45mph or so you can physically see the headlight shakin'. I can't believe that would be fun after an hour or so. Must be because of the offset firing/cams whatever that cause the Harley to produce that sound.
I use these (they had some clear ones, but I guess baby blue will work) when I go to concerts. Personally, there's a Movie Tavern (food + beer right to your table) and they keep the volume at a reasonable level.
Well, as someone who has had his share of screw ups, I'm always glad to see that someone has the totally objective viewpoint that you do.

I think you accidentally a verb.

Here's hoping she got her cable internet back.
This has a picture of the screw in question:

This reminds me of the Garbage Pail Kids...

The Nissan Juke is not an SUV.... more of a compact crossover. My 99 Grand Marquis gets 27mpg... on the freeway!
Just means that there's nothing else going on. I'd rather see this story than just hear about "OMG here comes another 1/2 inch of snow!!!"
Let's face it, Columbus news is kinda boring anyways. And no matter where this story showed up, it will be played out like a one hit wonder.
I'm going with Jerkstore!

I'm not sure about the new slim ps3 devices, but the older larger ps3 consoles were downright loud; louder than the PVR I have set up beside my TV.
And yes, it is wife approved. In fact, she now owns the remote... :(

I was going to HAAHAA that comment too; I'm pretty sure ATT went from "unlimited" 5GB/month to 2 tiered plans, one 200MB plan and a 2GB plan.

But it only truly answers the question "How is babby formed?"
These are awesome in protecting hearing but letting the full audio spectrum through - and a steal at 12.95:

I initially read your post as "dismantle a cat"
until I read the "being young enough to actually sleep in it" did I realize I was in error.
Looks like a southpark character on the laptop lol
