"Many people are lonely. For the same reason that these people keep pets, having a humanoid robot would provide companionship. This is a bit dangerous however for elderly without relatives"
I'll also bet that people who are blind aren't likely to attempt to light firecrackers at an early age (12) and have one go off near their left ear, causing tinnitus at that early of an age. They may also not be so inclined to attempt to play live music at such volumes to destroy their ears.
Of course, my right ear still has no ringing in it (age 29 now), but if I concentrate, I can tell my left ear still rings. There are days I wish I hadn't lit that firecracker... but you only live once!
But it's generally defined on earth (which is used in the analogy) that gravity will pull the cat towards the earth, either landing on the earth or a structure that is resting on the surface of the earth.
In fact, that would be interesting to see - if you take a cat up in space, and toss it towards a wall. Mind you, not with force to hurt it. Anyways, would it know at that point to move itself as it gets closer to a wall, or is it using the acceleration from gravity to know that it needs to re-orient itself?
So that either means the analogy is false, or their robot will use motions and contortions to orient itself, and then commence spinning and wriggling out of control, since there is no "down" in space.
That's understandable, but you'd still want to test each one, that way you can get the parts replaced before you have to deploy. Obviously you can do this before the install, but depending on how you put the machines together (piece by piece, or complete machines ala dell?) it may be a pain....
Also, you might find that even if you can get the prices in bulk to come down, it may be cheaper still to wait one year and buy then. At that point, you'll get more for your money. I know the library probably won't be worried about things like high end video cards and the like, but hard drives and memory and CPU are usually a moving target. As well, motherboards with more functionality will be out at the same pricepoint.
I almost missed the seven.... you don't necessarily care about the Q, because you only want to know the card values that have a vowel on one side.
Then, you need to check the 7 in case there is a vowel there (after checking E or 8, assuming those 2 may have an even / vowel on the other side) because if there is a vowel on the other side of the 7, the statement is disproved.
He came across a good sum of money; more than enough to pay his house off 4 times over. I asked him if he was looking to pay it off, and he said "Nah, I get a decent tax break on that interest!"
I attempted for about the 40th time to get through Gradius 4. Darned if I can get through what I think is the final level. Thing is, you can only use that code once per level, although they stack...so if you use it on the first level and then die on the 4th, you have 3 left to use...
By the time I got to the end of the game, I must have been on a one to one level. Even continuing, you can't re-use the code....
I'm still waiting for Gradius 5 to come out. Looks beautiful, and hopefully the music is more on par with Gradius Gaiden.
Rebuilding an engine is kind of like upgrading your computer.
You get to:
1. Buy tools to do the job right.
2. Have screws and bolts left over after every trek under the hood/in the case.
3. Get to swear you'll never touch this goddamn piece of crap again when it fails to start/turn on.
4. Be overjoyed at the sound of sweet exhaust/bios beep when you're finally finished.
The only real problem with cars is that they don't stay perfect forever. But I guess the same could be said for case fans/hard drives etc.
I've worked on cars for about 6 years now, got the bug from friends in college. Some days I hate having to fix my cars, but others, I look at the savings.... that is, after I learn what to buy etc.
"I'm not sure why people are jumping on plasma TV so much though. While the sleek cabinets are very nice, most of the ones I see look pretty grainy unless I'm ten feet away, and the smaller ones are only 480p anyway."
Seems to me that the people who would buy a plasma TV have enough income to afford a room to sit and watch their TV from 10 feet away.
Of course, I don't have that kind of money, so I bought a second hand DLP projector and made an 84 inch screen.:)
I actually was pretty decent at dodgeball -- that, and track.
We even had a sort of "last-man-standing" game, that I remember winning at least 25% of the time. Although, not being aimed at because I wasn't 100% hated helped....
I do recall one time making a split jump and having my nuts crushed up against the wall by the oncoming red ball. That friggin HURT!....
Kind of a related story... A friend of mine decided to scam a local mall store at the time (high school), and it worked pretty well. He would just walk expensive items right up to the return counter and get a store credit for them. Then, he would go buy a pack of gum. The cashier would then cash out for the rest of the value.
This man was looking to buy a tv from a store. Anyone that has ever been in customer service (as well as collections) knows you have to deal with irate customers from time to time. However, if you have a customer who feels like swearing is the last resort, you are probably doing something wrong. It sounds to me like these guys were in college (the salespeople) and reacted unprofessionally.
I know there are some places where you don't have a lot of stores to choose from, but you can usually take your business elsewhere. After you drop the f-bomb:)
I've been a fan of Minidisc for a while, but since I've slacked off and stopped going to the gym, I've not had the motivation to use my mz-r70...
On with my little rant though. I think Sony kinda screwed up on the new Minidisc recorders etc. I really really like the idea of their 1GB discs, as well that you can re-format a regular minidisc to hold 300MB+. However, I'm glad I haven't bought into this yet.
Why? Well, I've been doing some research. Apparently, the transfer speed from PC to MD is still abysmal compared to the other solutions out there. Don't get me wrong, I still would love to have a hi-md device, however I'll be saving my money until they have a device out for about 100$ (no way I'm spending 200$+) if they can't get the transfer rates up.
(I don't remember the exact rates.. something like 500kbytes/sec.)

Not so. They'll just need Old Glory Robot Insurance!!!

Ah. I was thinking you wanted to check both sides of any card to see what was on the "back", since vowel = even was what you wanted to prove, correct?
I always miss something so friggin subtle.
E, 8 and 7, right?

You will be in someone's debt if you go around smashing your hard drives, that's for sure!
And he did his time. Back the hell off.
I could see resentment if he just returned to evil ways... but geesh, how many of us here have never broken the law?
Not one?
Thought so.
Speaking of counterstrike, I thought this was pretty funny:
CS
That reminds me of a fellow I once worked with.
He came across a good sum of money; more than enough to pay his house off 4 times over. I asked him if he was looking to pay it off, and he said "Nah, I get a decent tax break on that interest!"
Some people's kids.....
Seriously. If the sex you're having smells bad, you or your partner may want to go see a doctor...
A friend of mine is gay, and he likes to man rate things too.
(smile, it's funny!)
That's horrible!
I'd still mod you funny if I could, though!
Gradius still rocks.
.so if you use it on the first level and then die on the 4th, you have 3 left to use...

And just because I'm a techie doesn't mean I know everything about everything.
Come on, people. This is cool to those who don't work in the field with this stuff day in and day out.

sig- Listen to my crappy techno! Click Here [technologi...teland.com]
From the sounds of it, so was your crappy techno.
Nothing like Will Farrell to make me want to go out and buy a cowbell for my drum set.

It's a wonder he didn't get caught.
Fuck that.

Depends on how good the service is. 10% = lousy service, 20% = good service.
