Is it just me, or does that computer look a heck of a lot like Homer's setup in the Mr. X episode? With all that crap attached to the monitor, and all...
I am under the impression that it is less to actually prevent conversion to MP3 and more to make it inconvenient enough that the masses won't do it on any large scale.
I cannot express how much I agree with this. I have been a rosehosting.com customer for close to a year now. They are the best internet based company I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with.
If you need something like the parent post describes, do NOT hesitate to go with rosehosting. You will not be disappointed!
"Think of them as Fox. On a dumb day." - this jumped out at me. Anymore, when I see Fox, I see Fox News. Taking Fox News's ultra-conservative stance.. say, Rush Limbaugh. Dumb it down.. say.. George Bush Jr. Hmmmm...
Anyway, I see your point. We just have different associations with the words news and publication.
umm.. i really hate to be nitpicking like this, but don't you mean "news" publication. I mean, you are doubting that they're news, and not saying that they're secretly not published,... right?
Has any other fan of this movie noticed the gross similarities before the media in that movie, and CNN, Fox News, etc? I mean.. "SHOWDOWN IRAQ". Come on - today's media makes the war look like a movie trailer. Do you remember that scene in Starship Troopers "DO YOUR PART", with the kids squashing the bugs? Mirror that in people buying duct tape and plastic to "be prepared" in the event of terrorism. It freaks the hell out of me.
I recently deployed a new dial-up server at my work using Slink Debian, kernel 2.0.38. The machine is a 100Mhz 486 with 8MB of RAM. It's deliriously stable, and runs all the software we need on it (mgetty, atftpd, cron, and some sh scripts). Why would I go for a kernel that requires more memory (Debian 2.2+ wouldn't boot in 8MB of RAM), when the tried and true works great?
You, sir, have managed to make a story about SPAM interesting. I applaud you, and I applaud SPAM!
Unfortunately, to celebrate you, I thought it fitting to take down SpamAssassin for a brief moment. Now I have a sore.. member.., a computer full of rather unpleasant porn, and my entire estate now belongs to the Nigerians. What a world!
Well, I wouldn't write off whitelists because of that. If the person writing you a question hasn't taken care of adding you to the whitelist BEFORE sending the message, they're being an ass.
I think that part of the problem exists in the very reason you site to say that there is no problem. Palm devices are very functional. That's what they're really designed to be, and that's what they do very, very well. What this means is that my Visor Deluxe serves my "schedule and notes" needs perfectly. I can't envision ever feeling the need to "upgrade", at least until the thing mechanically dies. Palm devices have their market, but it isn't one that ever really requires upgrading to function well.
I have to say, I really doubt that. Perhaps the demo was just poor, or something. My desktop at home is a PowerMac 8500, upgraded to a g3. That's 400Mhz, with a very poor 50Mhz bus. I run OSX on it and while, primarily due to the low bus speed, it does run sluggish - even on that machine OSX is not really all that slow. I seriously doubt that a 700Mhz machine with a 100Mhz bus is going to be anything but snappy.

If you're going to change that many words, you may as well go all the way and go with what you were really thinking - Brown STREAM of Dookie.
I'm sorry. I'm deeply sorry for that.

can you hear me now?
That's not a tiny helicopter - that's a giant chick! Let me be the first to surrender to our new master, this world-eating baby chicken!

This time, it takes half an hour for neo to finish saying "whoa".
I guess you've never seen "The People Under the Stairs"...
*shudder*

We give up... you do it.
Does it come with Duke Nuke'em?

Speaking of Starship Troopers.

One company that I've never heard of bought another company that I've never heard. Wahoo!

I would go for the more reliable (because who knows if they'll allow the exporting to old formats):
Control-A, Control-C, WindowsKey-R, notepad, Control-V
Eh?

So basically, it will be cheap enough to be wonderful as soon as it's not so expensive. Hrrmmm...
Donate pizza to the military. I have to say.. I read the site.. and I'm still just so freakin confused.
