Well whatever the reason, you're both lucky and an unusual case. Firefox leaks ram like a sieve. At the moment (I restarted it yesterday), it's using 1.58gb of virtual ram, and 307mb of real ram. Firefox is the operating environment. If it's possible for plugins to bring the thing down, then there's a problem with that operating environment.
That, and it's pretty well known that road deaths have increased in most places in england with boatloads of speeding cameras, and decreased where there aren't any. Do you think big brother's interested in that either?
Goddammit! Will people stop pointing that out, please? Any two-year old already knows. And you know what? OF COURSE it's not going to feel like a pretend sword, let alone a real one. But you know what else? It's a fuckload closer than pushing a tiny stick and mashing some buttons.
You're a fucking idiot. If there's one guy in a room of 20 regular people with blue hair, you say "the one with blue hair". If there's one black guy amongst a bunch of white guys / asians / mexicans / martians, you say "the black guy" it's not racism, it's a description. I can't be arsed watching the video, but I assume the man is black, why is it not ok to use that to describe him?
Hundreds or thousands of decent people died in the last 24 hours. If *you* have had enough of an effect on the the world that random nerds care enough about you to make a reference to your legacy, count yourself lucky.
Robert Jordan wrote some great books. Then he turned 1 great book into 4 shitty ones, and unfortunately died before the end. Sucks. But if you can't laugh about shit, what's the point?
What I want to know is, where are the turbines? Having the drive only come from electric motors should make a turbine the ideal "backup generator" for long trips when you don't get a chance to plug in. Added to that, they'll run on almost anything that burns, so would require minimal modifications for future things such as biofuels or even (i assume) hydrogen.
It's bad enough the times when the law says we HAVE to cop it from the man, nobody should ever bend over when they don't have to. If you don't legally have to produce ID, DON'T FUCKING DO IT.
And you're dreaming if you think that $600 difference didn't go into cheaper internal components and / or an ugly plastic case.
A co-worker and I recently both purchased laptops of almost identical performance. His is a Dell XPS of some sort, mine's a Macbook Pro. His was about $500 more, but it's a 17", and the price difference would be neligable had I bought a 17". They're almost identically specced, although mine's a slightly less powerful DX10 video card, his has slightly more balls but is DX9. Mine's also about half as heavy (and would still be signifigantly lighter if it were a 17"), much thinner, and looks good, where the Dell is a horrible mishmash of lights and coloured plastic bits. It's like a riced out Honda Prelude with neons next to a BMW 318. Similar performance, one just looks tacky.
They've definitely shot themselves in the foot with all the missing features and lockdown of the iPhone. The price is fine IMO, if it had GPS 3G and could actually do all the "phone stuff" any old nokia could do, I'd have shipped one over from the states the day they went on sale.
Hey cummon now, HDTV fucking owns. Well, high resolution TV owns, I just wish most stations would increase the bitrate. It'd be awesome to be one of those people who can't see MPEG banding / noise.
Why do we praise closed source companies who open up a little bit, but damn open source companies who close down a little bit?
How's that a double standard? "We" like shit more open. When something gets more open, we cheer, when it gets less open, we boo. That's not a double standard you nimrod.
Forfty percent of people know that.
In other news, the chick in the crying game is really a man.
I mean man, is that a great movie!

I like it. And underappreciated in this community of (mostly) yanks who've never seen Torchwood :)
Purple Monkey Dishwasher!

Nope, that only fixed it about 30% of the time for me, I eventually found that link myself. But I do appreciate the help :)

Problem solved.
From where in the word "hydrocarbon" did you get "nitrogen"?
You fail.

Unless of course you enjoy internet video, which adblock kills for a lot of people (myself included) :'(
+10, Insightful

I believe you misspelled Gameboy. The PS1 also sold more than PS2 IIRC

Fuck that, if they're going to continue recycling the same old franchises I choose Frank Miller's Robocop over Batman every time.
Erm, you seem to be forgetting that China's valuable assets are on EARTH, where we keep the nuclear weapons - not the moon.
Capuchins carry heavy river stones many kilometres to use them as nutcrackers.
Does it make a sound?
