I think it's great having the option to always have the calendar up within the Gmail screen. It's something I've wanted for a long time.
The one really annoying piece for me is that the main window tooltips stay up too long (like the Refresh button). If you hover over an icon too long and move the cursor away, the tooltip stays up for over a second. Sounds short but it's way too long. The tooltips for the icons on the right side are timed correctly though.
I use the compact option with a dark theme so I don't see a lot of wasted space.
That's why they don't put privacy in the news. They get some great dirt on people thanks to the NSA,etc. and then turn around and report on it. Whatever you think about Trump, most of the Russia news came via leaks from government spy agencies. That should be concerning to everyone.
When do we get road neutrality? I'm tired of paying tolls on roads that are deemed "more important". I'm also tired of being told I can't drive in certain lanes due to the contents of my car (HOV lanes for those that don't understand the reference).
Are roads not considered to be a utility? Lack of road neutrality increases the costs for individual people driving as well as the costs of goods sold shipped over the roads.
Some roads are "free" (paid for by tax-payers) and some roads have tolls (also paid for by tax-payers...toll changes is just free money for the State). Some roads have "special" lanes that you can use for carpooling (charging people based on content being delivered) or pay above and beyond all the taxes people already pay. If you don't do either, the police will chase you down and ticket you.
Tolls are MUCH higher if you are a truck delivering goods to people (again, content based charging). The excuse is trucks cause more wear and tear on the roads so the money is needed for infrastructure. Sounds just like what ISPs tell us...
I just get tired of the political hypocrisy (both sides). Toll roads are fine but ISP tolls are bad. I guess companies cannot increase profits but it's perfectly fine the government gets richer and bigger.
Did Musk offer proof Jose was working for the UAW? The guy's LinkedIn profile doesn't show that: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jo.... Just wondering if Musk is assuming the guy works for UAW or if he knows it.
This is exactly why we need to look at school vouchers or tax credits. People who don't want their kids to go to Government Schools should have the right not to pay twice for their school. If a parent wants all mention of God out of their school, so be it (go to a Government School). Otherwise, that parent should be able to spend their tax dollars on a school that holds their values. Not the values of the ACLU (you can't honestly say that the ACLU even has values). I just think it's odd that so many Slashdotters who hate America demand that proud Americans pay for schools that bash America.

Before everyone starts panicking over all our "lost privacy and rights", just remember what most working people have to do every year in April. The data collected by the IRS and the power the IRS has over everyone is enormous! Remember, both Nixon and Clinton severely abused the IRS' power by auditing all their enemies. The government takes all the money it wants to before you get any of it. They then redistribute to whomever they want to buy votes from (be it Corporations or Unions - take your pick).
This is nothing new and it's nothing that only "evil right-wing" conservatives do either. So, before everyone blasts this bill, think about the IRS and the power they already have (and have had for decades).

After reading some comments here from a year ago and from now, I realized you can't convince some people. How do you convince someone in the KKK that it is wrong to hate a group based on race? How do you explain to a Nazis that you can't hate and kill people based on their religion? You can't. I've learned that the KKK, Nazis and the Hate America crowd are just too closed-minded and full of hatred. It is a sad life.

Besides, no one is forcing kids to say the Pledge. But I think the schools should give students the chance to say it every morning. If you don't want to, fine. We have the ACLU who will sue the government if it ever tried to profile an ethnic group. So now the FBI says that we won't target any particular group, we'll target everyone. Now the ACLU says it doesn't like that either. So what's the FBI supposed to do? Believe all these soothsayers who say they predicted September 11th (just a few months too late)?
