Your loging stats program will have to be really lame to get that wrong. I use this string to trick lame javascript into thinking I'm using MSIE. See, they only look for MSIE. Loging stats should check the whole string. Webalizer has no problem figuring it out.
I got the whole thing loaded. 15" LCD, DVD and CD writer, 1gig ram, 30gig hdd, OS 9, OS X, speakers, keyboard, mouse. Its cheap for a Mac, and I get the really cool Mac OS X to play with (the whole reason I bought it). Yeah, I can spend $800 for a PC that is twice the system, but its ugly and does not run OS X.
I am getting ready to do this in Silver Springs, Nevada. Right now I have a Omni-Directional antenna on my roof and one connection about three miles away. We get about 5mbits/sec on the connection to my server. We are using Linksys WMP11 cards, a cantenna's at the client site. So far its working perfect.
We have about 70 people interested in joining. I'm going to charge $35 per connection. The T1 is going to cost me $1313 a month with a $1200 setup. I have a 32 mile loop (included in price). I have all the server equipment to get started. I figure it will be about $150-200 for the customer to get hooked up. The linksys WMP11 is about $65-80. The Dish is about $45-60. The cable is about $20-40. We can setup cantenna's for most people. Since this is the desert, no trees. All I want is about 100 customers. That is about all I can handle.
So far everything is working out great. I have a few more tests to do with more people on the line and if everything works, I'm ready to start.
The main problem I'm trying to figure out right now is how to have user logins. I can go VPN or PPPoE. I am leaning to PPPoE right now. All I need is a login with password to verify people and not allow free rides. I think this is going to be the hardest part.
I am going to write all the plans on how to get things going when I get things going so that other people in other places can do the same.
eBay has Mac hardware for cheap. I bought a Cube fully loaded for $1275. I'm using OSX right now. I also have Debian installed on my Cube for the times when OSX just doesn't cut it. I'm sure hoping that the next version of OSX is much better because 10.1.5 isn't that great. Debian and X is about 10 times faster than OSX on my system.
How about a software that removes the ad, but in the background registers a click through. That way we don't have to see them and the web site gets paid.
Someone can add this to Mozilla with ease since it is open source.
I just bought a Mac G4 Cube with OS X on it. The fonts are driving me crazy. I've always heard how much better they are. All I see is a blury mess. Its very hard to pick them because some letters will look good and others will be blury like -,i,t,l and others. I am just hoping its my 15" monitor. I need to get a 22" or 23".
I'm paying $400 a month for dual channel ISDN with static IP. There has to be a better way. SBC adds more money each month to my bill. Its costing more than my house payment.
I'm really looking into some kind of wireless option. I may even get a T1 and supply the town.
16 And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred three score and six.
It still looks like the Visor PDA's are better. I would get a Prism with two modules. One would be the VisorPhone. The other would be the Wireless Ethernet. Then I'm covered anywere.
I have only one problem. I'm in the middle of nowhere. I have to pay $360 for ISDN. Who knows what I would have to pay to get setup with this. We dont have Sprint out here.
The only people that think Debian is hard to install are people that can't read. The hardest part of it is the fdisk (easy to me). Other than that it is just hitting the enter key and your done.
Yeah, 5 hours. I'm talking about gnome, kde, mozilla, and other stuff like that. Even the kernel and base system take forever to update, if it needs to be updated. I try and only update stuff that I use and bug fixes. Still takes too long, and its even longer if I wait a month or two. A few things I was able to get bins for, like Mozilla.
And this is what happened to my Mac monitor:
Ouch
Note: Guns don't hurt computers. People do.

PS, I'm getting a iMac for my wife.

I put somewhere in my browser string "MSIE is crap". Works great. Even on bank sites.

I had to move away.... Far away.
I was thinking about building a directional EMP gun. Aim it out the window. I figured that it would kill all my computers also, so I never tried.
But just think about them asshole, every time they drive by their electronics fry.

Dont they know that Music wants to be free!
I have been using Mozilla for so long, I have forgot what POP[up|under] ads are. I dont even see banners any more (for the most part).
Mozilla Rules!
I buy a CD, then I rip the CD to MP3, then I return or sell back the CD.
Lets give them something real to worry about.

I submited this news a few weeks ago, but I guess I was too quick on the gun.
The new site is way way way way way way better though. Good job!
Well, a T1 out here is $2000 a month. I have a 50 mile local loop.
I'm paying $400 per month for my ISDN. ISDN sucks.

Also, how would you click and drag? You would not be able to see where your dropping it.

I would not store anything there. Thats freaky.
ping god
64 bytes from god: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=0.0 ms
[must be your connection]

I use mutt as my email client. I would really like to see a X version of mutt.
I have a cron that archives my mail directory each month. I just makes gzip files of whatever is in my Mail folder, and dates them.
I then can use grepmail to find emails...
grepmail 'Jon.*project x' companyx*
That will find any email with Jon and project x in all the companyx files.
grepmail is a great tool for someone that has lots of email. I have over 2gb going back four years.
For spam, I use spamassassin.

Here is a better link that works with Mozilla.

Just to let you know. Linux is a tank. Didn't you read the "In The Beginning was the Command Line"?
I am talking about MGBs, TANKS, AND BATMOBILES.
