I admit it would prolly be considered poor form, but it would be nice if I could replace my four limbs with prosthetics, then they wouldn't be so pisspoor excuses for arms and legs and wouldn't be so sore so often, my legs especially. Besides, my feet are shot to shit. Please don't ask me to explain.
Other people have replied attributing it to Ben Franklin, but this being the older quote is the more original. ("Two may keep a secret if one is dead" is a paraphrase of this.)
Props to anyone who can obtain the original quote but it goes back to William Shakespeare (I do recall spying it in one of his plays but for the life of me cannot recall WHICH play): Two may keep a secret if one is dead.
Yeah, and they used vaporware to kill Digital Research too. >. Sick, sick, sick. Especially considering that ripping off DR was how they got onto PCs in the first place... and ripping off DR was how they stayed there (killing off GEM with vaporware promises of Windows; killing off DR DOS with Windows 95).
I actually believe that the word for "Netherlands" in Japanese is "Oranda", which would be some sort of a borrowing of "Holland". So it's not just us American lamers that fail to make the distinction.
People won't switch to Linux because they want support for feature "foo", people won't develop Linux support for feature "foo" because people won't switch to Linux.
Someone has to break the cycle, and unfortunately, I am not a sufficiently capable programmer to do so myself.
MPlayer can parse WMV, and there are WMV7 and WMV8 decoders in LAVC. If you want to use WMV, use WMV7 (4cc WMV1) for best results.

Sure, just fire up XMMS.

I would go further: We don't need any new standards unless they are free of patents and open for use in FOSS.

I think the OP was referring to the DMCA...

So, has Netcraft confirmed the death of Itanic yet? If not, everyone else is off and even the captain admits the ship has sunk...

I usually say "swiped" or "made off with". ^^;

I prefer the term "online diary" myself.

I would make do with a robotic maid, myself... can't seem to keep my place tidy by myself.

That is the quote.

I think Gates had it in for Kildall, personally.

I've written a few Commodore emulators myself (my VIC-20 emulator sucks as it can barely run BASIC in text mode, but it does run).
A little toy I came up with while figuring out the CBM 3032

The US Constitution says, IIRC, that any civil case with $20 or more at stake is entitled to trial by jury...

Quite possible. Is H silent in Portuguese as it is in Spanish? If so, that would certainly be where it came from.

What would be an idea is if someone patented something, and subcontracted to people with money to make it, he could have made money off it that way.

First here would probably be one of Autobahn, Q*bert, Ms. Pac-Man, or Pole Position 2.
(Autobahn was a ca. 1983 Apple ][ game.)

What about American females? :P Soccer moms are the ones you're likely to see with the SUVs. Males? Prolly 4x4s, Dodge Ram or such.
