Why does it always have to be the fault of the business websites? No matter how safe and secure you think something is, there will always be some jackass that falls victim to something because there will always be criminals preying on the ignorant. The REAL problem is uneducated users. It isn't that hard to spot a fraud if you just take a minute to look around. I know it is a lot to expect people to have a more than basic understanding of how the web works, but maybe they should try to learn something before casually posting their personal and financial info online.
They probably just copied all his shit and kept it for themselves. They only held it up long enough to backup everything and make sure the KeyGens and NOCD Cracks were working on their favorite games.
No, honestly, you hit the nail on the head. With websites, the whole "If you build it, they will come" philosophy works. People need to build a useful site and people will visit. That's it. Just like developing a product to sell. Who cares what it looks or sounds like if there's no utility.
There was nothing wrong with the Dreamcast system! Of many of the same games made for it and the PS1 were better on the Dreamcast. For example: The Gauntlet Legacy game. The DC had nice controllers and a wide selection of games, including Shenmue. It just got swamped by the competition, which had more money to play with and could afford to lose more.
If you poke around online, it is not hard to find emulator programs for the Dreamcast so that you could play Genesis or even SNES games on it. How cool is that?
I wonder how much of it may have to do with the costs of having to buy extra cables to hook all that crap up. A set of 6' component video cables will run you at least $10, plus more for audio cables. You could easily spend another $50-100 on cabling if you combine a TV, DVD player, digital satellite or cable receiver, and a home theater together. I know because I did. Not to mention the component video cables for my Xbox.
That and there's always the whole "I can't see the difference, so why bother?" argument.
I get disgusted at how some of 'our kind' act. The media just loves to give them attention because the rest of the world likes to laugh at them, and us in a way. Bugs the hell out of me.
Movies do make good first dates because it involves spending time without talking so much. It gives you both time to get comfortable with each other without having to come up with a bunch of mindless conversation as you test each other's personalities. You can talk for hours about this and that, but I don't think it would put you as close a comedy where you get to laugh together. Trust me on this.
I got in when it was 2400 and most file downloads were considered huge if they were more than 100k.
It was a big deal when people finally upgraded to 14.4, which at the time was a couple hundred bucks, I think. Later on in the game, people were running 28.8 and 33.6, but by then it had started to fizzle out.
I had my external 1X NEC cd-rom drive back then. Hahahah. On my 386sx/20
Most of the BBS down here were run by people who had second phone lines. There were no 1-800 numbers and with max speeds often being no more than 14.4 or 33.6, most people didn't use long distance.
Anybody from Tokyo to Miami could hit a website message board.
Our local BBS scene always ended up at the local bowling alley. It was the only place where the adults could drink beer and the under-21's could still hang out and play pool. We used to do all that about every other month.
Then of course somebody screweed somebody esle's wife while the husband was out of town on military duty...people took sides...blah blah blah. And there were the horny losers who wanted to mack on everybody's girlfriends. Hahahah
About 90% of the stuff I get off ebay is from regular people selling off their junk. I don't buy from 'Power Sellers' with 50,000 feedback ratings who overcharge shipping.
I especially love the Asian sellers with software who say "Disc Only" in order to "Save on shipping."
Ever heard of Troy Duffy, the guy behing The Boondock Saints? He was one of those rare cases where he came out of nowhere and got a movie deal. Too bad he turned out to be a complete idiot and ruined his chances. Sad story, really, because the guy does have creative talent. There's a documentary about it all called Overnight.
When are they going to get all the Asian bootlegs off there? It is nearly impossible to shop for video games on there because they flood the site with listings. Same for DVDs.
Oh yeah, I bet the guy is getting offers right now to write Fast and the Furious 3. It'll be called "Triple Fast and 3 times as Furious" and he'll be working on the love story part of it.
What I want to know is when are they going to get all of those Asian bootleggers off Ebay? Just yesterday, I was on there looking at GBA games and there were so many listings for bootlegs coming out of Hong Kong that I quite shopping. They overrun the site with listings and hardly anybody is bidding on that stuff. THOSE are the people the authorities need to go after because they are actually profiting from stolen merchandise, and they are doing it right out in the open. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to catch them on there anyway?
I think I'd rather have a trilogy of great movies first, then maybe do a mini-series out of it. The series would be pretty expensive to keep going for a while, plus it would be a step down to go from a big movie back to a series.
I'm not saying he got killed for being a spammer. I'm saying he was the kind of sleazy businessman who would send out spam. People like that tend to get involved with some bad stuff. Most spammers are con artists, in my opinion. Somebody willing to be a part of the spamming problem may have other dirty dealings going on.
The fact that he was a major spammer shows that he does dirty business. People like that often end up in dealings with dangerous folks and that's most likely what happened.
I don't know...people are living longer which means they get older and sicker and need more health care. The population is steadily growing and more medical professionals are needed.
I think a big thing to get into is home healthcare like hospice type stuff. People have heard so many horror stories about nursing homes that they'd rather pay more to have people come to the house. That's what we did with my grandmother.
I'm looking for tech-related healthcare items to also blossom, like monitoring type devices.
Right now healthcare is the field to get into. Get a nursing degree and you'll be set. I wouldn't recommend anyone bother with any kind of tech degree. Teach yourself computers and get an A+ and Network+ on your own time.
Learning a trade won't hurt either. Lot of money to be made in contracting jobs, but you have to be willing to work for a living.

Regarding #3, please see #2. Worth(y)??
Your 'site' is already dropping in the ranks...

You totally just described me!

Give me some examples of how evolution has been over 99% proven. Please...I'm dying to know.
Creationism and Evolution are both theories that cannot be 100% proven or disproven. For that reason, both should be given equal class time.

I'm sure Hollywood is calling right now. I wonder if this is where the studios recruit some of their screenwriters.
Does anybody remember the party at the HOTel cORAL esSEX? The nerds rapped a tune there, and that movie is like 20 years old.
"Vote NO on fifteen!!" (or is it sixteen?)

Shoot the video in nightvision and sell it on Ebay!

Yep, to hell with technology.
