Many consumer electronics companies did not join the agreement. They contend legislation like Rep. Boucher's is necessary to ensure that consumers can make fair use of digital copyrighted material even when it is locked up to prevent illegal copying.
So some companies are still pressing forward. It works both ways.
Once you start doing the math for wooden structures, the cost quickly skyrockets. On top of high costs to support such loading, you have yet to deal with the issue of water seepage, insect vulnerabilities (termites) and wood rot.
That leaves us the two building materials. Steel and concrete.
But these guys have been doing it for, I think, around 20 years.
Their main building material is tires rammed with earth, and a wood roof on top. They build it into a hillside facing South (if you are in the northern hemisphere) and put big, double paned windows in it. Then the whole thing is buried (except for the windows, obviously).
Does this book stand alone?

This book sounds intriguing, but I have no method to read the CD comfortably (I don't want to sit at a desk to read, and can't fit my tower machine in my lap:-)
If an ISP gets one complaint from a user - that's one thing. If the ISP gets a messge saying that 23,000 spam messages were sent out in the last week by one of their customers - that's another.
Even better would be if the ISP got 23,000 messages. --

I haven't received spam with subject lines like you describe.
But I have received spam where the sender is shown as "z@someisp.com", where "z" is the name of someone I actually correspond with, but not at that ISP.
This makes me think that someone is scanning emails and building databases of relationships.
I don't know about you, but the last few DVDs I bought have this 5 minute mandatory intro on them that plays before it gets to the main menu. The skip buttons are disabled during this thing, so you have to basically stop the DVD and then press play to get past the damn thing.
Many people are asking which DVD's Ooblek is talking about. I won't claim to know exactly which ones he is referring to, but older (prior to late 2001) Disney DVD's were notorious for this. They also were (and still are) reputed to have the longest FBI warning in the industry.
And don't forget:
The Citizens (real name: all of us) We are the supreme power. Ultimately, it is not up to StallMan and The Penguin to stop the minions of Microsoft and the ??AA from controlling us. Fight back.
However, The Citizens have been placed under a mind control spell by The Luddite, and can not remember their superpowers, or even that they are in a battle against The Luddite.
Will The Citizens shake off the spell and remember that they have superpowers?
Will The Citizens realize that The Luddite is evil and must be fought at all cost?
Will The Citizens be able to regain control of their ships, the S. S. Their Rights and the S. S. Public Domain, from The Luddite and his minions, who seized control of the ships using mind control spells and the evil power of Graft?

As a programmer, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to not work under a "work for hire" agreement and get a cut of what my company makes from my creative talents. Sometimes.
On the other hand I get medical insurance, a 401K retirement plan, paid for every hour that I put into the creation of my work, and I'm not asked to cover the "recording cost" of my work.
Maybe, if recording artists are going to be put on "work for hire" contracts, they should demand a similar deal? No, they won't get rich that way, but the prospect of guaranteed income per hours worked sounds a lot better than the current model of the business.
1. Publish a new P2P package that is packaged using DRM, and has a EULA restricting its use and/or users (no RIAA employees or contractors, no crapflooding, etc.). 2. Wait until RIAA DoS's/crapfloods your new P2P network. 3. Drag RIAA into court for violating your DRM and EULA. 4. Profit
Well, you know the old saying... Garbage In, Garbage Out.
Disney just released "Mickey Mouse in Black and White" on DVD.
So they can still make money on it.

About 2 seconds after Hoshi's moment, we see a clip of Trip having an orgasm.
I'm not sure I needed to see that.

The problem with glue is that it's subject to deterioration due to sun, persperation, etc.
I think they should use staples.
How the heck can anything be accomplished with less than 6 hours per week?
It would take forever to make anything operational.
When you work for the U.S. Gov. and you write the budget yourself, anything is possible.
