The current version of MiniMo isn't even usable. I stuck it on my Dell Axim X30 and it pulls my task bar to the bottom (it should be on top) and lays over the bottom bar. The interface is absolutely horrible thus far. It renders pages at full size, but has no ability to shrink them to fit a QVGA screen. Also, it doesn't seem to support landscape mode (as in, it seems to have 240x320 set as a constant instead of changing with size of screen). It looks extremely promising, and I can't wait to use it, but it's got a LONG way to go before it's usable by the general masses. Until then, it's simple Gecko rendering on a WinCE device.
I love my Ubuntu.. works on my laptop just fine (havne't tested modem compatability).
If you add the restricted repository to apt-get, i believe there are drivers in there for winmodems. Furthermore, you can just install XMMS for mp3-playing, or gstreamer for use with rhythmbox
Although not the absolute best way of going about it, it might give you the best feedback:
Look up existing sites, call the client, and ask them about thier experience.
Some people may not talk about it or may get upset, but eventually you should find a few that will share thier experiences.
This is still a bit tricky because clients that stay with a firm do so because they like the results. It's hard to find people that have a strong dislike for the company they're still with - strong bonds are formed between client and firm.
Aside from that, go with yoour gut instinct. Humans have natural reactions to situations for a reason ("intuition"). Follow that feeling when you talk to them. If they come off unconfident, fly-by-night, or anything bad, steer clear: the situation is probably worse than you think it is.
My comment was not a joke or criticism of Windows or Linux. It was merely a mention to the fact that idea of major releases may be defunct. Why worry about major rewites every X years when Windows seems to be more of an evolving thing whereby patches and updates increase it's intrinsic value. Take the.NET Framework for example. This has added value to the Windows line but didn't require a major version revision to implement.

Much like the war in Orwell's 1984, Windows will never be complete. It's been a long time since the last major overhaul. Maybe they need to just make Windows a perpetual upgrade. Each release will have a major component update.
Now that Windows is `for the most part` on a standardized framework (.NET), they should be able to just release updates based on this framework, whether it be for current major release or retroactively. If you need some component installed, just make sure it's prereq's are there. Oh wait - this sounds a lot like Linux.
While I understand that inmates deserve some rights (despite their lack of liberty), I think this is a step in the right directions. Let's try actually _educating_ those that need it. Without video games and TV, maybe inmates will have to resort to... reading. If you haven't graduated high school, I think that a program to help you earn your GED would be particularly helpful.
Instead of encouraging the downward spiral of crime, let's give people skills to use if they wish to fix their ways.
First, my high school is mentioned (although after my graduation), and now my university. I feel special. If you're in the Orlando area, party at my place on Saturday!
Unfortunately my ISP (university controlled) limits my BT speed in the day (but I can top 200K/s at night). I'll donate the tracking. You donate the seeds.
P.S. I'm 2 for 2 on legal uses for running my tracker. Shoo MPAA don't bother me:)
Someone should create a.torrent that consists of that's day's submitted torrents
a simple search engine could tell you which daily torrent to grab. you could then use your software to limit the downloading of a specific file (the atual torrent of the file you want)
surely that would if nothing else, at least mask what's being pointed to, maybe buying into the "i had no idea what torrents where in there" argument
2) The new "Chat History" window and browser is useless. With it I can see the first line of a conversation that I had with someone, but I can't seem to get any deeper than that. Granted, there may be something simple that I am missing, as I have been concentrating the most on my primary problem,, which is...
try double-clicking the first message of the conversation.. and viola! the entire transcript

It's nice to see companies standing up to the class bully...
One day everyone will realize that the bully just had a self-esteem problem. Let's hope that day comes soon.

23 seeds, 11 peers... seems fine to me
If you use an IP in the range that PeerGuardian blocks, then well... sucks for you.

torrents are fun
Watch this thread for a .torrent as soon as I set it up :)

p.s. informative, interesting, and insightful are not trolling
gamecopyworld.com
the irc channel (#suprnova.org) on irc.suprnova.org is announcing that suprnova won't be coming back online
I don't know if this is coincedental, but the filelist.org tracker seems to be acting up as well.
