Size of sprites has no impact on performance, what matters is how much code to handle those objects is executed. You only have a 1 MHz 6502 processor, so if you can't finish handling all objects in 1/60th of a second, you get slowdown.

  7. Who the heck wrote this? on Emulation and the Video Game Industry · · Score: 1

This thing is so full of mistakes and inaccuracies that it's laughable. For one thing, it implies that all emulators need a bios image to run software. Then it mentions someone called "MegaMan" on the UltraHLE team. The writer must not have known that the authors were Realityman and Epsilon?

  12. Re:bull-ony on Japanese DS Game Substantially Different Than US? · · Score: 2, Interesting

There have been a couple times where US and Europe get a superior game while Japan gets shafted with an inferior version. See Maniac Mansion and Battletoads.

The Japanese version of battletoads had the difficulty level toned down by a large factor, while the US version of Maniac Mansion was a superior rewrite.

  16. GB Bridge on Nintendo DS's Compatibility With GBA FlashCards · · Score: 3, Interesting

Am I the only one who thinks it's idiotic to test the GB Bridge? The GB Bridge is not a flash cart, it converts a GBA cartridge into a GB/GBC cartridge. The Nintendo-DS's cartridge port is not shaped to accept GB/GBC games, which Nintendo themselves claim are not compatible.
