This is an absolutely unacceptable spyware 'feature' from Canonical. I'm sad to say they've obviously lost the plot. Thankfully there are other Linux distros that behave much better.
FWIW, dictionary.com says the definition of suicide mission is: killing or injuring others while annihilating yourself; usually accomplished with a bomb
Creativity itself can be challenging. For example, try and build a complex machine using redstone in minecraft.
I often find the early gather/survive aspect of Minecraft is the most entertaining. Once you have a safe shelter and the ability to grow your own food, for me the game changes to finding more rare items (diamonds, etc.) and/or improving the looks and/or vastness of your settled property.
Mods become more important the longer you play, IMO, to keep the game interesting. PvP arenas, mob arenas, multiplayer (which basically requires anti-griefing mods), world building tools like WorldEdit, etc..
"Due to her persistent refusal, the school’s administration finally offered Andrea a deal; she would comply with the project by wearing a program badge with the chip removed."
But it's not quite that simple:
“[A]s part of the accommodation my daughter and I would have to agree to stop criticizing the program and publicly support it. I told [the Deputy Superintendent] that was unacceptable because it would imply an endorsement of the district’s policy and my daughter and I should not have to give up our constitutional rights to speak out against a program that we feel is wrong.”
I foresee a day when we will have roach hunting nano bots fueled by the very roaches they kill
Agreed. The same concept could be applied to removing zebra mussels and other foreign species in the water. Or maybe the robot feeds off of animals but performs some other function, like removing toxic chemicals. Yet another robot could be sent into landfill sites to find useful metals, etc.. while feeding off of organic waste or combustibles.
And all over, gamers are playing regular games with no grind, just for fun.
Yep. I spend most of my gaming time on Minecraft these days. I'm tired of the same old WoW gameplay mechanics, even more than the grinding. The low level players never want or need any help because it's too easy. I don't want to spend a lot of time learning each boss's tricks and having to run back countless times.
Still, I love the lore and I love the world and music and characters Blizzard has created. Give me a game with these elements with the customizability, open-endedness and player creativity of Minecraft and I'll be waving money at you. Give me something different - the mechanics of WoW have had their day in the sun.
I have no idea what happend to make me conscious of my brain doing that, and it never happend again
That's interesting. One time and only once, I remember as an adult hearing the actual sounds of English speech for what they were without automatically interpreting the words or meanings. It was pretty cool, and sounded weird (weird because I was thinking I should recognize these sounds but at that moment I didn't).
Competition in terms of price? Possibly. But competition to push the envelope in terms of performance? I thought game makers pushed hardware makers to innovate?
Or perhaps saying Romney will win by a landslide is designed to get people to vote for Romney because he's going to win anyway, or no point in voting for Obama because he's going to lose anyway. If that was the intention, it missed its mark.:)
There's plenty of off-color humor on TV and in movies and even advertising. I choose not to watch those types of television. If enough people stop watching, that stuff will go away. If people keep watching it, then I guess there's a market for it. I'm not going to waste my time trying to get people to stop watching this stuff, else I'm inviting people to ask me to stop watching stuff that *they* don't agree with. Who am I to say? Personally, I'd rather try and be a good example than tell people what I think they should and shouldn't be doing. Heck, even in my own lifetime what I think is 'good' or 'bad' changes with new experiences, insights, feedback, etc.
40 years old is so young if you take care of yourself! I'm pushing 40 and I know as well as when I was 20 that tech is what I love to do and that's what I am going to do. I have noticed changes in getting older, like getting in the zone takes a little longer, but using age as an excuse to not get the job done has never entered my mind. Figure out what you want to do, and fricking do it!

You live on a planet for awhile and die there. In this case it will be on Mars. I don't see why this is being dubbed a "suicide mission".
That's what they say, but what's the difference between an idea and a vision? Or between an idea and speaking from experience?

Could they not just heat the 'combustion' chamber itself?
Of course I'm not saying this *is* photoshopped, but try and find somewhere else on the map with similar properties.

That's my initial thought as well. This puts reaching 1m people in the range of most anyone in the developed world.
Learning a boss's fight isn't the kind of "hard" I'm looking for, I guess. Once you learn the tricks, it's memorization.

How would 'lather, rinse, repeat' look after being relooped?
I guess the whole world is guilty.

Same question asked 3 times this year. tldr; You're only as old as you feel.
I hope they don't dumb down the smart playlists feature. That's the only real reason (aside from its support for iPod) that I use iTunes.
He must be one happy dude if he's happier than this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnvvLM-dHSs
With the, what, $10 per American that this cost?
I couldn't disagree more. I love the character Captain Picard - Trek wouldn't be the same without him.
Does that mean that a body doesn't need sleep - only the brain? Or have their bodies adapted in some special way that ours hasn't?
