It is physics, so you have to get physical with them!!! Push them around a bit. Tell them it won't cost any money, either for the install or for administering. The hardware already exists I'm assuming?
Go with ICRADIUS/MySQL. Works great. You didn't mention what state you are in. But if you are in california, give O-1 (oh-one) communications a call. Ask for Steve.
I agree 100% here. I am soooo bad at writing documentation about something, because I usually assume that someone already knows _something_ about it, and the end result is no one knows what I said, and they don't have a decent starting point. I'm getting better at this, but this is one reason why the user forum at phpbuilder is so great.
I don't know how they can think it's done since they are the ones who told you to work the bugs out while it's in production. It went out the door buggy, and so it stays buggy, because some incompetent ass had no clue why you were begging him to wait to ship it.
absolutley!!! I like the way it has the top bar at the top with a section to search the documentation or you can search the forum. The forum is like an old school chat room. Someone has trouble they post a question, someone going by notices your plea, and knows the answer so they post back. Maybe adding a Q&A for newbies, like
Q>"How do I add php/mysql/imap support to my older setup?"
A>"type this this and the other and replace httpd blah blah"
you can also just browse the doc file and list of commands alphabetically if you are bored by using the << >> at the bottom of the page.
it's an excellently done site, I think it should be the model for documentation sites. CPAN was good, but it took a little bit to get the hang of where things were and what they were called....phpbuilder i was able to figure out immediatelly, and make sense of php back when i was still learning it (which i guess never stops) yes it's not so simplistic that experienced users get bored there.
be still my beating heart....is this actually by microsoft? is says x-box folks. and they even did debian, way to go guys!!! does this even run netbsd yet?;-)
I go to the site, I want screenshots...Is this going to be another AtheOS? Good idea, Be was gonna be the best once upon a time. It had a ways to go, such as being truely multi-user and such. It was to close to a mac in that regard.
Nobody going to the microsoft booth, I think it would cause more of a fuss if _NO ONE_ went to the booth than if a few hecklers stopped by to poke fun at the poor dears...
fine then...what about sony's mini-disc? similar ad campaign. what do they think they can do about it anyway? Winchester is still around and their guns have killed more people in their history than Vietnam[accuracy unknown]. YOu can't blame a company for producing a product that _can_ potentially be used badly. **off to buy a mac to rip mix burn***
on behalf of the websites you maintain?
if you are trying to send using their smpt server they won't let you, just use earthlinks smtp server for outgoing mail.
well my guess it that since be is now worrying about dissolution, the focus has changed from "how to provide the best consumer os on the market" to "how not to get sued cuz no one bought the best consumer os on the market", they have to payback the shareholders, via the sale of everything they own, i think they should auction off stuff on ebay for their customers.
I use google msot of the time as it's usually jsut plain easier and faster...
2 things i still switch to altavista for 1> when searching for exact phraze "microsoft really sucks ass" altavista will pull upa page that says that, google will pull up pages containg those words 2>url searching. Altavista can search specific sites by using +host:www.ibm.com +thinkpad +390, which will search only ibm site for thinkpad 390's whereas google will not pull up anything
Remember making the mass public think something for the quick sale is usually not a good idea
"Amiga's are only good for games, and video taster" i'd hate for the word amiga to be substituted with linux, although i am happy to see this as well, i thik it will be tough to maintain the lines, and pay attention to when the tide is starting to shift into a "linux is only for games" mode by the mass-at-large....
I seriously doubt it will take decades to iron out. Come on this is MICROSOFT people!!! They will have the bugs fixed with the next release of stolen *nix code.:-)
All I want is carp with Freakin laser beams attached to their heads.
Relax DOJ I run Linux, this isn't an issue for me. ;-)

That would be a cool one.
Of course he hasn't done much lately, except the crunchbox...but I'd be interested in knowing some stuff.

Anyone else have problems with this?

I'd like to see more sites done the way phpbuiler has been done. Especially perl, and apache things like that.
just use NFS and set the mount directory to /home/~user/
