Im not sure if this idea has been suggested before, but i haven't heard it. How much of a stretch would it be for/. to cache and mirror most of the links, at least for a few days while the traffic dies down? They could be archived several links deep, untill the story cycles off the front page, or the olderstuff tab. This would be a great convinience for the users, and i cant see that it would cause much of a problem for the servers. Perhaps we could pool suggestions on solving the/. effet and bring it up over at slashcode.com? Anyways, thats just my $.02....
Actually, load-time is a significant factor for me. I frequently open/close my browser windows, to keep desktop clutter down, and until recently, mozilla was far to slow for me. i use it all the time now tho...
Remember, though,,, Legolas and Gimli's parts in FoTR are relatively small. Their character development mainly takes place in the Two Towers. The focus is on the unusually close relationiship that forms between the elf and dwarf, who have strong racial bias against one another at the start. This is why, in Fellowship, they seem flat and stereotypical. Hopefully, in Two Towers movie, that aspect of the story will be given the attention that it deserves.
Unfortnately, I'm on a lame cable service (charter in gville, SC) and i dont get the sundance channel. Does anyone know of another way to get the broadcast? like a video tape mailorder or soemthing? I know, its a long shot, but i really want to see this.
in the last year or so, i have tried at least 3 redhat versoins, 2 mandrake versions, one debian, one slackware, and one caldera. Ive been 'taste-testing' if you will. at cheapbytes, each of these cds cost me 2-4 dollars. plus i even got freebsd and netbsd once for free on clearance with my other order! yay! (still need to try one of those out..) This is dirt cheap compared to _ONE_ copy of windows 2000 i bought. I imagine that when i find a distro that i really love, ill buy it retail with the manual and bells/whistles. but even then, the cost will pale in comparison with my expenditure on only one version of windows.
hrm. I assume that you mean the Ordos, but it seems to me that they were mentioned somewhere in one of the dune books. maybe ive just been smoking too much crack today.

well, actually, no you wont. You could make a sort of 'roll your own' type distribution, where you burn a cd-r with the linux, the emulator, and as many roms as you want.
While I believe that electronic voting could possibly be implemented in a way that is secure and doesnt violate our rights (secret ballot could easily dissapear with this).
I think, however, that every american should have the right to view the source code and hardware schematics. That would put us in a better position to defend our freedom

Hmm,, a little bit _CONTRADICTORY_ perhaps??
oh well....
Well, as far as i can remember, the only actual damage that the melissa virus did was to crash email servers. And the guy who wrote that is in jail....

Marge vs the Monorail???
especially since its targeted towards children.
maybe the price will come down on the previous models, so i can have a shot at owning one...

maybe now all the other states will think about following suit. This is a good precedent, imho.
we should start a fund to buy public officials.

go go libertarians!
well, knowing that there is a minority of car fatalities caused by seatbelts each year makes the question a lot more interesting

who gets to decide who gets alcohol in their blood surrogate?
two opposing views. that cant be good. god forbid we should read both and decide for ourselves.

From the looks of this, it is meant to be a luxury item. For hopelessly addicted gamers, and people with lots of extra money lying around.
