They know how to exploit the press. The know how to exploit local laws, if this show was produced in Canada it could be shut down by registering complaint with the government.

Coming into the 21st century isn't their problem, the problem is we refuse to do anything about them because too many have some guilt for actions taking by others generations ago. Or worse, some just have the need to feel superior by showing their restraint and "understanding" which is far more insulting to them.

There is permanent goal, meet one and they will make another or move it further out.

No farmer wants animals harmed or raised in unsafe manners, it is not cost effective. On a farm with a few thousand head of cattle it ain't hard to find an animal who is not healthy or into a situation you could not predict.

As far as the quip about big corporations and cubes, spend less time ranting and more time starting your own business. Oh, I forgot, ranting is so much easier. There is a reason why so many are employed by big corporations, it is because it is far easier to let someone else make the decisions for you and take the risk for you. This is the same reason why many have no problem giving up their personal and financial freedom to the government for the coddling they believe they receive in return.

Sorry, having to change the devices orientation based on lighting sources while even INDOORS is usability bullshit.

Damn, why is it the majority of upcoming computing devices practically require you to be indoors? Basement dwellers rejoice, your new freedom empowering computing/etc device is optimized for work under the stairs.

My marine GPS is perfectly legible in direct sunlight, let alone rugged enough to get a bit wet. Hell I would be afraid to take an iPad outside, less it get wet or too hot, totally disregarding the fact I cannot read it unless I held it above my head to block the sun

In other words, there ain't money for rocket science. Really, until some other nation lays claim to the moon or really starts being pushy in space our space program is going to be full of double talk and expectations. So, uh, yeah, they have the resources now to develop x,y, and z. Well duh, your not doing any expensive launches your bound to have money for other things. The problem is, research is not exciting to the public. It does not capture the imagination. So NASA will fall further from the public's eye which will make it easier to keep marginalizing it.

It does not generate sufficient votes in an entitlement first generation. Why spend money to go to the moon when we can use the money to provide entitlements which generate votes which keeps us safely in office.

Hell, NASA's budget ain't larger than a rounding error in the overall scheme of things. To tell the American public with a straight face there ain't money to do that is astounding. Whats worse are all the people running to defend it. We just spent more money shoring up some major banks than we spent in the last ten years on the space program! The stimulus package had more pork than NASA has budget.
