    I RTWFA and there's alot more evidence than just some Iridium in the KT boundary. From what i read the main evidence of an impact causing worldwide aftereffects is the spherule's in the KT boundary. These are supposedly created by the "reentering ballistic impact ejecta suborbitally lofted above the atmosphere by the Chicxulub K-T impactor". (Quote refers to the IR radiation created during reentry)

    You can propably get there without any safety equipment. You can locate the web cam by looking at the pictures...

    If the dino appered suddenly (as the article suggest), then it propably was by some outsider.

    You're guaranteed to get an uncorrupted file if you use a bittorrent client that doesn't 'cheat' when does checksum on the chunks as it restarts a download. Every chunk in the torrent has it's own checksum. (usually one per 0.5-1.0 mb)

    I think you've watched too many SciFi movies. Sure it's technically possible to travel within your solar system, but it isn't guaranteeded that it is possible to build a spacecraft that will travel to the next start in any resonable timeframe. Warp drives and even near-light speeds make good movie material...

    They do have methods of detecting CVD processed diamonds, they are too pure to be natural.

    The problem is that exceptions short-circuit the return path in non-obvious ways.

    It is done in a quite obvious way if you've spendt the nessesary time to learn it. Handling deallocation pointers during an exception isn't hard as long as you know how it's done. Like any other aspect of real programming languages, as long as you are carefull then it won't bork;)

    If you got the torrent file from the same trusted source you get your MD5 check sum, you don't need to check with the MD5. Every single chunk of the file downloaded is checked against a SHA1 checksum.

    Storing the image with in a lossless format like PNG will not result in any loss of information. What you get from the CCD is what you store in the PNG, no image processing done.

    If you think C++ belongs on that side of the line, then you've either never programmed in C++, or you've written some pretty buggy programs (and are ignorant of it). C++ is kinda like a powered chainsaw, effective and powerfull but if you don't know how to use it you'll end up losing a leg or two.
