...is this the version that wipes out compatibility with their entire app library, requiring developers to start from scratch if they want to support the new platform?
And my dad does the cooking at gramma's Thanksgiving feast because she can't get around well any more. (Actually, he's more of a waldo that gramma controls from her chair in the living room.) I generally don't venture into snow country this time of year so I mooch off the generosity of friends.
DVDs' primary advantages are from how obnoxious advertising becomes online...
LOLWUT? So you're saying DVDs don't have mandatory previews and advertisements? I watched a DVD at a friend's house a couple weeks ago and it was over 10 minutes of junk before we got to the actual movie.
...your buddy needs to get out of the buggy whip business. 5 years ago. He might have been able to sell to some sucker named Randy back then.
Music stores, book stores, and movie rental stores: No longer viable businesses.
Anything that can be transmitted electronically has no place in a physical storefront. The sooner your friend accepts reality, the sooner he can transition to services or physical goods.
I have a laptop mount in my vehicle that I use to hold a laptop running GPS software while driving. It gets live traffic updates from my phone's WiFi hotspot.
It's been a good 20 years since I've used a device like that for authentication. Maybe 19. Used it to log into telco switches. The token generator was a little device about the size of a small calculator, securely attached to a desk next to a laminated sheet of paper (taped to the desk) with step by step authentication instructions including username/password. The desk was in a secluded corner right next to an unlocked door that opened onto the building's loading dock.:facepalms:
Very wrong. My mouse stores up to 5 profiles in its whopping 128k of internal memory. Totally independent of the OS (assuming the OS supports a standard USB mouse) once it's configured. No tube required.
You go ahead and be one of the test cases for this. Let us know how it goes after you lose a couple years of your life and have a legal bill in the six figure range. Oh, and all of your computer equipment will be gone for the duration so I hope there's nothing important on it.
If they're doing it now, they brought it back. I went to them in 2006 because I'd heard they let you jump right into a discounted month-to-month if you brought your own phone. "Nope. We don't do that any more."
Don't forget the background checks where they spend six months or more interviewing your family and past employers. And the random drug tests. And polygraph tests. And the credit check. And...
I was disappointed by the fake gnu. I wonder what it would cost to rent a real gnu. I'll bet a kickstarter project could make this happen for Windows 9.
What are you smoking? Do you have any idea what hardware and bandwidth cost back in the day? Back in the early 90s, my internet cooperative was paying somewhere around $600/month for our 128k connection. Our terminal server cost as much as a used car. That was probably our single most valuable asset.

And some are separated by less.
My mother's dead, you insensitive prick!

BBQ.
A friend put it this way: "They play that song better than anyone else."
That is all.

I fail to see what Papa John's has to do with pizza.

Just needs the duck lips.
"Hey, Mo, isn't that your house on TV?"
Keep an eye out for rodents stealing extension cords.
Now I want one.
And that would be technically correct. The best kind of correct.

I'll wear out that fast-forward button getting to the shower scene.

He got a loan from some dude who will start cutting off fingers and toes if he doesn't make his payments on time. Talk about incentive!
Thanks. That helps put it in perspective.
