The other thing I would recommend is adding the sticky bit to group, so that files and folder will be forced to pick up the group permissions (retain them, actually) when created.

I played around with this last year in 1.3 and 2.0 versions and I thought it was reasonably sound, aside from that limitation. And hey, if they don't want other people prying around it, then you'd better no be putting it on a webserver to start with. Duh.

But, additionally, you might want to consult a real, licensed nutrionist and/or allergist. Find out what kind of foods you should and shouldn't eat to keep you healthy. There are food allergies that will make you sick and tired. My daughter can't have foods from the nightshade family very often (tomatoes, peppers) and dairy. She can have some, just has to be kept moderate and only if she's healthy at that moment. Sucks-- limits our family pizza time. But, that is actually a good thing for all of us. :-)

Peanut butter is a real problem in schools. And it's not just the kids who are deadly allergic to peanuts, it's a "hyperactivity"-inducing agent. The sugars, the nuts... there are other foods that are bad for kids, and maybe bad for you.

  9. Sure... but 1)time and 2)$$$ on NASA Redesigning The Space Shuttle · · Score: 5, Interesting
Alright, sounds great. I'd love to see a better space craft (and I have vested interests in space flight).

    But let's look at something:

    Time

    1. It would take minimum of 10 years to design, build, and test a working model.
    2. We've got the ISS flying right now that needs service and crew changes-- and more often than the Russian Soyuz can provide. While I'm on the Soyuz-- their last flight wasn't so hot either. That was a new model, too. Did you know it takes 18 mos. to build a Soyuz capsule? Did you know they barely have enough money and crew to meet the six month demand for the ISS? Do you trust the Russians to go drum up people from the unemployment line to ramp up production? Do you... ah, nevermind.
    3. Space is not easy or safe. The fact that we've only lost three crews in forty years of space flight is totally remarkable! It is not a safe environment. Tito and the other dude who flew on the Soyuz took their life into their own hands-- and hell I would do the same in a heartbeat! But it is not safe. It is extremeley dangerous and every astronaut knows that. Citizens forget that.
    Money
    1. It will take billions of dollars to pick one of the many designs for the next orbital plan/vehicle, build and test ONE.
    2. We also face increased spending on defense, security, and welfare. (Damn terrorists, criminals, lazybones, and old folks) Which one will you cut?
People see NASA's record and watch Enterprise every week and think it's an easy thing. It is not!

I TOTALLY agree that we do need a new vehicle. But we can't just mothball the Shuttle and stick 'em in museums. They have to be toughened up and fly for the next ten years until the new vehicle is ready. I REALLY want a new vehicle now! But I am fatally realistic: the shuttle will be permanently grounded, the borrowcrats will cut NASA some more causing the space plane to take too long, and the ISS will probably do the SpaceLab thing.

True, but not true. If you come onto my property and start sawing my stuff I can call the cops and have you arrested for vandalism. In some jurisdictions that is even cause for justifiable manslaughter.

So... just be careful where you pull out your chainsaw and where you stick it. Make sure have the property owner's permission.

Not even sure what sawing has to do with free-speech, but I'm sure there's a wacky drugged out artist who can confirm that sawing is an art and protected by free speech.

No, goober, you do both. The side in the Sun will roast, but the shaded side will be very cold. In space, you want to keep everything inside in, and everything outside out. That, my friend, is what insulation is for. It does both.

Yup, I've been trying out Freevo for like a month. It's taken be almost that long to get most functionality working. Documentation sucks and is mostly irrelevant. I've tried to participate in that by fixing the wiki some.

I compiled Mythtv, and it was horrible on my 800mhz Duron with 512mbRAM. I already have like four to five computers on in the house at any one time (mine, the wife's, the two kids, and the firewall) I don't really want a backend db server for a frontend media server. I like the one quiet piece does it all. I have thought about adding the mysql db to the firewall box, but hate doing that.

I actually found the XMLTV portion to be the easiest and most well documented. Now... there was bug in the freevo scripts that needed some help after that was working. And then there were the daylight savings issues, which shouldn't have been an issue, and all the skins' bugs and errors. And hey, I had as much trouble with Nvidia's driver and tv output.

I believe they are JOBOKHPAMAA (just o' bunch o' kid hackers playing at making an app) but there is some GREAT potential. If you don't count my frustrated time, I am getting my money's worth.
