Not that I'm really disagreeing with you here but then couldn't you say a nuclear holocaust would be good because it would save millions of people in our future from world conflict?

Bandwidth can definitely be a problem. During my last year at a New York State University, P2P brought our network to its knees. They began filtering but that didnt seem to help much. Everything was slow as molasses unless it was hosted at another University that was connected to Internet2.

They never completely blocked p2p networks but I wished they would have.

Had you read that salon story a little more carefully or thought about what you were saying, you would realize that the perpetrators in question were NOT part of the military, simply contractors working for the military. These are not members of our Army but civilian employees who are not working directly for Uncle Sam.

I've had an Apex dvd player that is macrovision free... have i ever bothered to test it? No. I think that the amount of people who would go about bootlegging dvds for their friends would be a very small group. I would much rather simply lend the disc to someone than spend time recording to VHS. Maybe macrovision mattered when VHS was king of home video but not anymore. People who REALLY want to bootleg videos have ways around it in any case.

Many have complained about the stylus silo cracking or breaking, and i've seen several complaints about the screen failing to responde and black lines appearing on the display. You should probably go check out the handera forums at http://www.pdabuzz.com and http://www.brighthand.com and asking around there before making any big purchase.

Its not about japan selling controllers, as a gamer, there are many games and accesories for game consoles that come out in japan that never come out here. A sega music game named Samba De Amigo is played with two maracas (spelling?) shaped controllers that you shake to play the game. This as far as I know did not come out here. A better example was the game Virtual On 2. The virtual on arcade cabinets have dual joysticks for controlling the action, in japan the home version of hte game came with the dual joystick controller, in america it did not, and the controller was not domestically released. The game is truly no fun with the standard controller.
