also the fact that millions of lives were saved from a conflict in Asia (whether this benefit outweighs the result is also debatable).
Not that I'm really disagreeing with you here but then couldn't you say a nuclear holocaust would be good because it would save millions of people in our future from world conflict?
"so I don't think bandwidth is the real issue as some have suggested"
Bandwidth can definitely be a problem. During my last year at a New York State University, P2P brought our network to its knees. They began filtering but that didnt seem to help much. Everything was slow as molasses unless it was hosted at another University that was connected to Internet2.
They never completely blocked p2p networks but I wished they would have.
"Also recently Salon had an article on US Military Contractors buying and selling under age girls in troubled areas in Europe (Bosnia etc.). Would any western news firm pick up this story and let the world know that the Army isnt full of people who would lay down their lives in the blink of an eye for freedom and against oppression ?"
Had you read that salon story a little more carefully or thought about what you were saying, you would realize that the perpetrators in question were NOT part of the military, simply contractors working for the military. These are not members of our Army but civilian employees who are not working directly for Uncle Sam.
I've had an Apex dvd player that is macrovision free... have i ever bothered to test it? No. I think that the amount of people who would go about bootlegging dvds for their friends would be a very small group. I would much rather simply lend the disc to someone than spend time recording to VHS. Maybe macrovision mattered when VHS was king of home video but not anymore. People who REALLY want to bootleg videos have ways around it in any case.
I don't have one but I've read many accounts of the handera's having problems with build quality. Many have complained about the stylus silo cracking or breaking, and i've seen several complaints about the screen failing to responde and black lines appearing on the display. You should probably go check out the handera forums at http://www.pdabuzz.com and http://www.brighthand.com and asking around there before making any big purchase.
You're saying Jason X has more value than spider-man? Have you ever read spider-man comics? Do you even read comics? If you did you'd realize that they are not just fluff for teenagers. Spider-man was always the most human of heroes despite his powers.
Do you know where there is more information on this? I searched for uberman's sleep cycle in using one of my school's psychology databases, PsychINFO and couldn't find any references to it.

When Heckenkamp replied, "The United States of America," Ware ordered him taken into custody. " haha i wish i was there
Hong kong has had mandatory ID cards for years, mostly to make sure you werent a mainlander who was there illegally. It's not much of a leap from that to this.

Its not about japan selling controllers, as a gamer, there are many games and accesories for game consoles that come out in japan that never come out here. A sega music game named Samba De Amigo is played with two maracas (spelling?) shaped controllers that you shake to play the game. This as far as I know did not come out here. A better example was the game Virtual On 2. The virtual on arcade cabinets have dual joysticks for controlling the action, in japan the home version of hte game came with the dual joystick controller, in america it did not, and the controller was not domestically released. The game is truly no fun with the standard controller.
I think it would be great if this device were designed to accept your normal outlet plugs so you plug whatever you want into it without having to buy some kind of adapter... but i guess that means the company loses money on selling you adapters for your gear.. ie: adapter for your ipaq, adapter for your phone.
You do realize that 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 were books?
I agree with you for the most part. It seems to me that alot of people don't really know what Bill Maher said he said it was cowardly to launch missiles from many miles away, but he meant that comment towards the politicians. Bill Maher has always been a huge supporter of the military.
"Thank you very much for making me laugh,. It's the first time since the attacks started that I've done that...."
Someone said something that made me laugh the afternoon of the 11th, she said "oh no! its gonna be ww4!" and then i said "What?" and she said "sorry, wwI 4" I couldn't believe I was laughing. The second time I laughed that day was when cnn showed some video footage in the midst of the dust cloud and the person holding the camera said to a police officer walking by, covered with dust, "excuse me officer, do you work here?"
Perhaps email was not the best way, I was under the impression that most email is ignored and that if you really want SOMEONE to read it you should get out the pen and paper and write a real letter.

I live in new york.. can the planes go drop somewhere else for once
Got it reversed, you never have true black on an lcd because the backlight is always on and it can never block out all of it.
Anyone ever think that this is exactly what happened? A gathering built upon a fictional story? People praying to a character?
