A: The 'HD' in 'HD Radio' is part of iBiquity Digital's brand name for its digital AM and FM radio technology. It does not mean either hybrid digital or high definition, it is simply the branding language for this new technology.
They are simply riding the wave of video High Definition hype nothing more.
Most companies I have worked for will overly lock down one area of security (ex. overly tight settings on web browsing)and completely ignore all other forms of security (ex. employee ability to install unlicensed SW on local PC). I can't say I've ever seen any of them install a patch for MS Office unless I did it myself on an individual machine. I'm sure the cost of manpower hours far outweighs the risk in most CFO's minds (CIOs probably look at it differently but don't get the final say). I've also noticed it has a lot to do with the CIO's particular bent. Some feel a good "offense" is best while others are always taking the "defensive" posture.
Awww memories. Seems like an eternity ago it took me near 20 hours to do an NT4 install because the installer didn't like the motherboard's cache so I had to turn it off to do the install....on each and every PC in the department. Of course several failed numerous times and had to be reinstalled. No, I think I'll be doing only fresh installs of Win7...if any.
I've been doing that for a long time now on Windows Mobile using home brew ROMs.
90% of the road warriors out there are not using and don't want to use home brew for their business needs.
I really hate hearing about all these awesome innovations by Palm, Apple, & Windows Mobile using home brew ROMs that I've been using for yearson my Blackberry, but nobody cares because it's Research In Motion (RIM)!
Correct, and traders will hate this. We tried the Matrox TripleHead2Go a couple of years ago and it stretched the screen across...wait for it...THREE monitors. I never heard so much bitching about how hitting the maximize button made an app take up all three screens. Fortunately Matrox had anticipated this and provided a setting in the drivers to provide the desired functionality. I hope AMD is as insightful.
I had no need for FACEBOOK either until a few months ago. A very dear friends lost her husband to a car accident. they had moved years ago but we tried to keep in touch. To disseminate information about the accident and subsequent hospital updates (he lived for about a week after the accident) etc. she decided it would be easier to post the info on FACEBOOK where all her friends could see it at once rather than fielding umpteen calls an hour. I created an account and was able to follow the status as well as provide long distance support via posts to her wall. What I also found was that there were lots more friends I had lost touch with long ago I was able to reconnect with. Several of which have renewed friendships and communicate via FACEBOOK daily even though there is little chance we will get to see each other any time in the near future.
If the customer you service is NOT a geek then nice trumps competence most of the time. Nick Burns is funny but I have had more people thank me for "helping" them (they still had the problem when I left but I calmly and politely explained the problem to them is layman's terms) than getting in fixing the problem and getting out.
We were doing parties like this for Linux back in 1995. Some were Slackware while others were Red Hat. Of course back then you needed a team of techs to do a proper install;) Aw memories....
In fact I need to go check on the progress of my Gentoo compile on that IBM XT we started around then. BRB
I am kinda partial to the "Little House on the Prairie" era schooling technique. Kids of all ages sit in the same classroom while the teacher instructs the older children on more advanced subjects those kids then teach the younger children things they learned from the older kids the year before. It teachers learning as well as teaching instructing. I know many intellectuals that are completely unable to convey to others information about what they are experts on.
I read the headline and thought it said slashcode 13 released. For a split second there was much rejoicing. Then I wondered if it would include images of Jason. Then I realized it said Slackware and I went back to staring at the wall.
I thought they meant receiver as well but someone on another site mentioned it is there to allow you to stream audio to your FM receiver (car or home or wherever). Hands free also sounds plausible. The N900 looks like the kitchen sink of mobile gadgets on paper. I hope it can deliver.
From the HD Digital Radio FAQ
Q : WHAT DOES THE HD IN HD RADIO MEAN?

Damn capitalist hippies!
It's getting where an evil mega-corp can't make a bazillion bucks anymore.

Tethering un-modded for years!
YOU LIE!!!!!
actually I think it's (ne NE ne NE, ne NE ne NE, etc.)
I would love to use Synergy in the office but whenever something goes wonky on the network the network admins always blame Synergy.

I found it quite humorous actually but appreciate the sentiment twitchingbug. Of course it would be funnier if it weren't so full of truth ;)

Because it is cheaper to pay one guy who knows where to put the chalk mark than it is to pay numerous guys who don't.

I keep looking for UBUNTU in the Kindle's catalog. What's it's ISBN #?
Dee Dee Dee
"Ding fries are ready."
You do know Disney owns a PLETHORA of media companies. Many of which do some pretty gruesome stuff.

+5 Insightful...I'm proud and saddened at the same time.

We need a -1 TrollFeeder option
there's going to be more depth to the story than Starship Troopers
So much of District 9 happens in underground caves?
Yes, and the mice were furious!
Not nearly as furious as when the Vogon Destructor Fleet blew up the Earth (Which of course Africa happens to be a part of).
Both IE8 and Firefox take me to http://www.fatguyshirts.com/ if I type in donothijackme.com.
Do they have nice shirts? Are they reasonably priced?
