Check out Qcast for PS2. It lets you do all of the stuff you mentioned over ethernet on your PS2 (assuming you already have one). If I still bothered to actually rip mp3's, divx movies, etc. I'd have one of these in a second. They sound terrific
Obviously, if the original inventor had secured his IP rights through patents early on, he would have been credited for his idea instead of being doomed to languish in obscurity.
The only thing I know is that Nick Burns, my company's computer guy, doesn't fix anything, he just insults me for running software that requires 256mb of ram on a computer that has only 64mb. I don't think he's certified in anything.
Is it just me, or was the ending REALLY irritating.
A few people have mentined that they thought the trip to Osgiliath was unecessary, and I agree, but the ending is bad for more than that reason. Namely...
WHERE WAS SHELOB?
It's hinted that she'll be in the third movie, but why did they leave that out? Also, why didn't they show Gandalf "bussin' a cap" is Saruman? The scene with Pippen (or Meriadoc) and the palantir? Okay that last one might be in the third book anyay.
But the first two belong in the second movie! They wasted time with the Osgiliath stuff, made Faramir too much like Boromir, and left out one of my favorite parts of TTT!
I believe it was Space Quest III that tripped me up for weeks trying to figure out how to get out of the ravine. The little alien guy told me "Just say the word and I'll show you the way out."
Took me weeks of trying "let me out", "let me go", "show me the way" before I found out it was simply... "the word" ARGH! Then I had to navigate through that dark maze of tunnels being followed by the weird squid creature.
According to a recent article in TIME magazine, the Arwen/Aragorn love story is to some degree told in the appendices (of LOTR or one of Tolkein's "lost tales", I'm not sure). I have yet to verify this personally.
Unfortunately, you're not out of the woods even if you're running XP. If you'd RT *ENTIRE* FA, you'd know that a malicious website could actually install the vulnerable version on your XP box (probably by faking version numbers). Once that happens, you're just as vulnerable as the win9xers.
The malicious website can install a vulnerable version of the active x control, NOT MDAC.
I'm sorry, but it doesn't appear that anyone read the freaking article.
From the MS TechNet article: * Customers using Windows XP, or who have installed MDAC 2.7 on their systems are at no risk and do not need to take any action.
* Web server administrators who are running an affected version of MDAC should either install the patch, disable MDAC and/or RDS, or upgrade to MDAC 2.7, which is not affected by the vulnerability.
The "fix" to this vulnerability is installing MDAC 2.7 which is available on all versions of Windows back to 98.
Other than the fact that this is the 50,000th security patch that I have to install on all my machines, what's the big deal?
It's called Rhapsody from Listen.com. 99 cents per track to burn to a CD. $9.95 a month to listen to unlimited streams to your PC. They have a pretty decent selection of streaming music (over 1/4 million tracks), but you can only burn so many of those to disc. Still, it's what a lot of us have been waiting for. Windows only though...
Yeah, but what if they are deaf as well as blind? Uhh... wait a sec... hehe. Just kidding.
Seriously, your point is certainly valid.
However, as someone with sight, I have two options open to me if I'm interested in info or tickets from Southwest. The phone and the web.
Why should a blind person be denied access to either of those?
The man isn't (likely) trying to put Southwest out of business.
I don't believe that it would kill Southwest to make their site accessible to screen readers. It's not like the guy is sueing the local travel agent to make their site accessible. All major sites should be accessible to screen readers. That's kind of the point of the ADA, to prevent companies from ignoring those with disabilites. The groups are small enough that voting with their collective wallet won't effect these companies.
"He can have someone else read him the page too, I'm sure there's someone around him who can see."
And how do you know this? How can you possibly speak for every blind person?
You (Cubeman) shouldn't be given special provisions because you're learning disabled. I'm sure you have someone follow you around to explain everything to you, right?
For those coming in monday morning and checking out this story, be warned...
BIKINI CLAD WOMEN LIE JUST BEYOND THAT LINK!
Seriously, a warning from the editor would have been nice.

I love beans, hey hey hey!
I love beans, everyday!
Beans are an excellent source of protein,
I love beans - dinkey doo!
Finally a reply from someone who has actually played the game and formed an opinion backed up by experience.
There is too much of this "Well, I've never played before, but whoever wants to pay $10 a month to simulate a life online is a loser without friends."
If I had any points, I'd mod you up.

Well...
Considering that The Two Towers is a book written by Tolkien, I think it will be a little less accurate...

"everything I have is entirely non-lethal" - Dr. Heller, say it with me... "Heller"
Do you think it's a coincidence that Dr. Heller's business card stated that among other things, "Chicken Rental"????
What brain dead retard modded this Troll?
If you really really don't think it's funny, mod it overrated or something, not troll.
In Soviet Russia, trolls moderate you!
I'd be interested to know what any slashdot reader who has actually purchased one of these boxes thinks....

This site even uses the stereotypical Japanese style of speaking english...
"Because of Japanese reguration isn't suitable to develop new airplane."

Speaking of DS9, the movie Nemesis is supposed to be "a generation's final journey."
Which cast will star in the next Star Trek movie(s)?

I would be more worried if the worm ran around breaking things and choking children, like
furious yellow.
Instead of robots, we got helper monkies.
They can do way more useful stuff than robots...
Steal doughnuts from the donut shop by stringing multiple doughnuts on their tail and arms.
They aren't forced to abide by those crazy moral laws that are supposed to be built into robots.
Nope.
