I have only had one experience with Brazilian people online. It seems many.br kids who like to sit in net cafes think it's funny to destroy online communities. Take, for example, the MMORPG Tibia. These kids would walk around in-game and, upon seeing someone else, would say "br?". If you answered in English (or anything other than Portugese), they would promptly attack/gang-attack you.
Somehow, I think something similar is happening here.
I'll agree that GUI tools SHOULD NOT EVER do screwy crap to your config files. I don't see what's so hard about making a gui-config-thing that just edits the config file...then again, I don't make do much coding...
Well said, bro. I just can't stand the fact that people are content with using a language extremely crappily. I live in Minnesota, so I get to deal with lots of "you got dat dere ting workin' good?"-type stuff all the time.
Part of the deal might be the fact that new model cars won't sell better than last year's unless there's something "new" about them. People seem to have an arbitrary attachment where they connect "new" to "better", so a "new" car that isn't "better" probably wouldn't fare as well as one that is changed.
I agree here. I remember reading an interview with a flight sim geek who said his first time flying a Cessna "felt like home". I've also improved my driving by playing Gran Turismo. (well, maybe "improved" is a strong word)
I had trouble reading that, and I think that that study is bull.
On a related note, my high school history teacher gave everyone a copy of that, and my friend replied right away "Hey, this has less mistakes than your regular tests." (It was true)
Do Slashdot editors feel the need to edit submissions at all?
The new core is based on the 90nm Prescott, which offers respectable performance, compared to the very slow Northwood based Celeron.
This needs to be "Northwood-based." The way you state it, dear qtothemax, will have less intelligent parsers thinking the Northwood core is slow, which it is not.
Looks like Prescott's longer pipeline is more then offset by the better branch prediction and most importantly the doubled cache when it comes to the smaller cached Celeron.
This is not a sentence. Also, it's than.
This Celeron may be able to compete with AMD's offerings based on more then name brand alone.
SAN ANDREAS IS A STATE. I don't know of many people who refer to suburbs as "the suburbs of Illinois", it's usually "the suburbs of Chicago".
Especially with Bob Costas.
*Shudder*

While we all love Google for their great search engine, all is not well in the land of search engines. You might want to check out this site .

I probably would have just installed .9.2, but your tip saved me the time/headache.
I used illegal fireworks here (Minnesota) and all I got was the few I hadn't shot off confiscated by the local cops. Good job, poindexter.

I think I remember a plug-in for WinAmp that did that, but I might be thinking of some other player...

Good job begging the question. Notice how I didn't say "porn is the work of Satan," all I said was "many people don't agree with [you]."
You might say I can't prove there is a Satan, but can you prove there isn't? Of course not. Your argument is null and void.
Your argument is weak, and makes no sense.
Please keep your religious ramblings to yourself, kthx.
Lets get some facts straight.
1) Kids are not going to 'stumble' across pr0n. They are going to go out looking for it.
That's odd, I remember in 1995 (when I was underage) I misspelled "infoseek.com" and found a porn site
3) Pr0n is not the work of satan, despite what many(including 4 S.C. judges) believe. People need a more mature attidude towards sex.
Wait... you said "facts". This is an opinion. Many people don't agree with you, so stop deluding yourself that your opinion is a "fact".
In some parts of Europe, though, the Xbox is already a leader. Why? Ease of pirating software.
American gamers buy shitty sports games with updated stats every year. This makes EA a cash cow, along with the systems needed to play the games.
I had trouble reading that, and I think that that study is bull.

Please use the word THAN.
I just bought a computer from LinuxCertified.com and it's going to be fine for college. I don't see any reason how this is "unrealistic" for anyone.
IE is not as "safe as anything else." Here is the proof:

In my rural area, tons of people know what bushels and acres are. ;)
Nah, just write 'em backwards.
