Not just the Audigy ZX, but Creative cards in general are very good at not being CPU-abusers.
Mainboard audio is generally good for most people because they don't spend several hundred dollars on speakers that you can actually notice a difference on, so it's not just a "hardcore" thing.
I have a Nokia 5165 that has pretty much nothing special on it. A lot of my friends have the newer OMGL33T phones with color screens/downloadable stuff/etc, so I'm just like "oh yeah? WELL I CAN PLAY SNAKE!"
So I tried to play the games, right? The first page says I need IE, flash player and win98, and I'm like "yeah whatever", then the page says "you do not have flash player 7". Sure I don't (I do). Then the game doesn't load. Riight.
I spent about 5 hours figuring out that the Pokemon games are absolutely not fun at all. I don't see how they still sell in the millions (!) of carts for each new release.
Some simple bugs haven't been fixed yet. 0.8 has a great bug (in windows in linux at least) where checking the "don't let sites that set removed cookies set future cookies" doesn't actually make it work. This works in the suite, but not in firefox.
The rendering engine still barfs on images that have been scaled to large sizes too, making pages scroll slower than a snail.
EA's games are subtly political. All of them try to show how mainsream USA is the greatest thing ever: Madden/other sports games, James Bond, SSX (yes, really).
Most Minnesotans (the ones who think for themselves, anyway) pretty much think like this. If Bill wants to argue, I'll slap him with a rather large muskie/walleye/northern.
Very true. A local "warehouse"-type store in my area has TVs and furniture for a lot lower than a name-brand store. Sure, it might be a factory second or something, but it's giving all the profit to the locals and they are also very nice and moral people.
Certain Japanese videogames...

Yes, it is QUITE insane. They must be running some uber-l33t hardware for that. Especially when a new kernel gets /.'ed.
A 760 KB changelog!

Let's hope it is. Of course, with the media being a giant oligopy, this probably won't get covered except on page A14 of your newspaper.
This just shows that people still understand how to use democracy in this country.

I would much perfer a site say they are beta instead of putting out non working features.
I'm going to send this comment to microsoft...
dude, a regular size chocolate bar has about the same amount of caffeine as a DECAFFEINATED cup of coffee.
If they really want to know where the Holy Grail is, they should just ask the old man in Scene 24.
The best part of that whole movie is the elementary school kids' presentation. I still can't watch it without laughing.
An RFC could help here?
Most slashdotters already have experience with this type of reasoning. It usually goes like this:
1. something
2. something else
3. ???
4. Profit!
As usual, this product will end up with a much less impressive feature set, as most Sony products do. Don't get your hopes up too high.
Remember the "PSX" console? Most of its cool features were dropped about a WEEK before its launch.
It's always the Finns who program the cool stuff :P
Yeah, those Athlon FX processors are really cheap. Maybe I should dump my celeron for one.

The list goes on forever.
Love sentence fragments in slashdot articles.
COPYRIGHTS are about ideas. Soon the right to speak will be patented, and you will be out of luck.
If you recieve the mark of the beast involuntarily, you can still switch sides, right? ...right, guys?
