Gamers of course are stuck with windows since so many games use Direct X instead of OpenGL.
Are they really? Doesn't most games use a commercially bought graphics engine today? And can't many of them use OpenGL as a backend? I am genuinly curiuos about this, since I don't have that much information about the different game engines out there.
To be fair, the gamepad is sometimes superior to keyboard+mouse. Kb+mouse wins in fps and pretty much any strategy game (rts, tbs etc). Platforming and racing the gamepad has a clear advantage. Of course, you could always buy a gamepad for $20-50 to your PC...
The console is also a more social experience, more people can play together at the same screen. But on the other hand, you can do so freakishly much more on a PC than play games. Pricewise you must probably compare the console+decent laptop against a gaming laptop/desktop to find what is cheaper. You also pay publisher tax on console games.
If nokia couldn't make meego fly, i don't think canonical will succeed with a linux system either. As almost every market tend to be 2-3 heavyweights and not much more.
Don't worry, money don't have any value in todays socity anyway. We just print more.
On a more serious note, every time they have run amok, they have rolled back the stock market to a stable point. So if you are a rich gambler and loses a lot of money you will be fine.
"Breaking news! How will obama lower the price on gas? Have we gotten any proof he isn't a muslim? And will he ever show conclusive evidence that he is born in the US?"
No, this doesn't make sense at all. We are talking about British english vs US english, whose culture are very similar. Actually, a normal american probably have more in common with a common brit than they have with for example a Texan.
And second, your example is a poor comparison. Not only is it not British english, you are talking about the answer not the command or question that you give Siri. The usual commands you give Siri are very similar in US and UK. I.e "Set my alarm", "Book an appointment", "Call XX", "where is YY?", "Find me a restaurant".
I also think it has to do with Jobs dying around that time. When celebrities die, they always draws a crowd to their products. There is something in the human nature that makes us vultures.
This is just wishful thinking and simply not true. An Ipad is not a PC, they fill different markets. Or should we also count Ipod touch as PCs, since they are basically the same thing as an Ipad only smaller? Or android phones, like the desire Z or Galaxy Note? Or servers since they have more in common with a PC than an Ipad have?
No, it's more like buying a girl a 4 kt diamond ring then later replacing it with a 3kt diamond if she wants you to clean the dishes and explaining it to her that this is because some other woman down the street only has a 3 kt diamond ring.
Nerds can't relate to girlfriend analogies, you insensitive clod!

Maybe he meant 35m profit?

A list of resolutions on consoles: http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=46241 As you can see, many titles don't support 720p. And some have both low resolution and no AA.

I had to start using Office 2013. I went to IT and made them reinstall Office 2010. It HURTS to look at the UI. There is no contrast to help determine what is a button. http://cdn4.techworld.com/cmsdata/products/3370360/Excel_2013.jpg
That's even less contrast than slashdot...
Seems like a good thing for android developers. The current simulator is a bit slow.
Old news, has been like this for about 10-20 years.
There are more than one??? I thought it was just one very disturbed person, which often argues with him/herself with conflicting views.
You are a consumer, not a creator. Get back in line hippie!

Didn't you read the article? It was an act of terrorism, so it must have been unity.
Don't worry citizen, the Ministry of Truth will soon fix this incorrect article..
Didn't they bash google over this exact thing when they bought motorola mobile?
That wouldn't help much. They would just create the necessary code to make it work and set a bogus pricetag of "One million dollars!"
This will be the year of linux on the desktop!
And it doesn't run Linux.
... Yet.
Why do it need to be a rooted phone? Why isn't it just a launcher?
The big corporations will still steal ideas, but this time, the. Smaller fish atleast have a small chance of survival.
A more interesting idea would be to make patents person-specific. I.e no company can ever own patents, only humans can.

You still need to be a member of a church, the republican or democratic church. And a few goofballs chose independant.
