    Exactly. If the EFF decides to pursue this to the end, it will more than likely give others pause when trying to stop people from USING their PURCHASED electronic devices.

    They aren't talking about "hacking IP". They are talking about using hardware, think linux on Intel hardware. If Intel required signed bootloaders, do you think the law would protect them too?

    You have to realise that nobody shoots for the middle (workable) ground.

    You have to aim for NO copyright to get "reasonable" copyright.

    Asphalt has it's issues in cold climates.

    Up here in Toronto, highways are concrete (yes concrete) with an asphalt layer on top.

    Every summer the asphalt has to be repaired, leading to our two seasons.

    Winter, and Road Repair.

    Things may be similar in the midwest but I am only speculating.

    Think "Grow Houses" Up here in Canada. If a landlord knowing keeps renting to a grower the house can and will be forcibly cleaned up at considerable expense to the owner and the owner may also be held criminally responsible. Different laws/country though.

    I loved that MOD too. I loved all the grappling hook mods. I SO miss that aspect of swinging into a base with support and slinging out with their flag with a rear guard. I must be getting old.

    re freezer: You are forgetting something here. The inside of the fridge/freezer combo is a closed circuit (air-wise and refrigerant-wise). When you take a new freezer and it starts to cool, it's many passes of the air inside through the evaporator before it comes anywhere near freezing. That and the fact that there is still "heat" to be absorbed well below the freezing point (heat pumps anyone?).
