I am a 'real Christian', and I don't think that this game is going to be cool...I just don't see how they can pull it off without making the game sacreligious (sp?) (unless it's a matter of a nearly non-interactive theme park). I would think that a allegorical game would be a better route for a Christian themed game - Narnia or something like that. I shudder to think what someone RP'ing Jesus would do...
I don't understand why anyone would buy a MMOG on the first day, especially experienced MMOG players. In particular attempting to buy a game as in demand as a Star Wars MMOG and expecting to play on the first day is just plain nuts!
Just wait a month or two - it'll be much better on your blood pressure!
This seems like a pretty lame idea to me. I just can't see how it would work. Christians will probably be offended, and non-Christians probably just won't be that interested.
No point in Canada last I looked - you just can't get the listings. Never seen a Tivo for sale here.
Bell Expressvu (Satellite company), offers a receiver with an integrated PVR which works very well (it'll even allow you to tape PPV stuff), 30 hour HDD, 1 hour buffer....I've been happy with it, although I think Tivo's have more bells and whistles.
One of the fun things for awhile in Morrowind was making my own models and seeing them in the world (until I could no longer use the expensive software required to do this).
I would love to play an on-line game where I could import my own 3D objects...
I don't see any justifiable arguement against people doing this. If I want to buy an expensive painting and draw on it or use it for TP, that's my business I own it. If I want to rip a DVD, edit out swearing, heck add my own scenes, in my home for my own use, then that's my *right* if I bought and paid for the DVD. I own it. I'm not one to go on about rights all the time, but this seems pretty damned cut and dry to me. Obviously distributing the modified DVD or copying is against the law and reasonable, other than that TS for the MPAA.
And I would've thought for DVD that it would be a great move for movie companies to include an edited track and cut of the movie on a DVD anyways - they're going to have to do it for TV, so why not get that out of the way, plus increase the sales of the DVD?
At first I thought the PSP was a pretty cool gadget - for some reason I got the idea that it was a portable PSOne...but apparently I was wrong. A portable PSOne would've been awesome (Vandal Hearts, King's Field on the go etc.). But it sounds like the PSP is just 'another' handheld;)
I do some 3D stuff my C4D site, One other recent quick pic, just a hobby, but if the right project came along it might be fun to do some 3D work. I had great fun doing Morrowind stuff, but it required a far too expensive program for graphic work. Cinema 4D was more affordable for me but was incompatible.
Give me a break, any bloody excuse to add a new tax, and I guess it shouldn't surprise anyone that this is a NY State idea. Enough freaking taxes already! The government already has more than it needs.

V-Rally 3 has pretty decent car damage in V-Rally mode...I've busted up breaks, engines, even individual wheels...
One time I managed to finish a stage on 3 wheels! It was a little ways from the end, and was damn near impossible to steer, but some how I made it - even won that particular rally with all the other time I'd made up.
Nothing like heading towards a cliff edge, going to slam on brakes and getting nothing but a horrid squealing noise!
If GT had that, it'd be just plain the best game ever I think!
Sorry, I'm just not that excited this time around!

This isn't that exciting for me...don't get me wrong GT3 was a great game and I enjoyed it thoroughly. But what is Sony really adding here? A few new cars and tracks?
GT really needs an engine overhaul:
- better collision physics - I get tired of racing against other 'bricks' - car damage - now pieces falling off etc., would be very exciting and cool, but even something as simple as a damage bar to represent what is going on and reduce performance. There's just no way in a game as realistic as GT3 (in other areas) that the fastest route on some tracks should involve setting up a nice billard ball bounce. That should totally screw up your car. The best would be individual parts breaking, and affecting handling, as well as cosmetic damage that may even affect aerodynamics.
Without some major changes, we're still just playing GT1.
I'd gladly wait a couple of more years for GT4 if it had actual new features!
I've personally never liked Ridge Racer, since it's first version on PS...Unless they've done truly drastic retuning I can't see them ever touching GT...but of course if I am proved wrong that's just fine, as another good racer would only be a good thing.
As for GT4, well without car damage I'm just not as excited - indestructible bumper cars kind of ruin that game after awhile. On the one hand, it's so realistic, on the other hand on some tracks rebounding violently off a wall is the way to win. And if not car damage at least realistic collisions!
Far and away the best software like this that I've come across (and put all my energy into over the last few weeks) is a little shareware package called Game Maker 5.
It is professional, flexible, stable, and all around a total surprise.
You can use it on a basically unlimited basis as shareware, or register it for $15 to support the project.

Truly I can't believe that this isn't on store shelves (probably limited marketing appeal)
Wow I've been looking for something exactly like this...so I can play around with Cinema 4D generated graphics...hmmm maybe we should start a game team:)
I'd say the people that have the luxury of shopping around (myself included) are quite lucky, as there are many that would kill to have either option! Being stuck with dial-up for awhile, I don't think I'll be worrying too much if I am getting.5Mbps or 2Mbps, so long as I'm not doing 40kpbs any more!
Every so often on the radio I'll here an Office XP commercial...it goes something like "blah blah blah...buy Microsoft Office XP with our next computer, it's cheaper". I always wondered "Cheaper than what?", well if you're stuck with this problem then I guess the answer is "Cheaper than 2000".
I agree...I mean when you sell software (or music!) as downloads, then your supplier might get concerned, I can understand their concerns.
But how the heck can the suppliers create miniatures out of nothing...these GW people must've sold them the miniatures to start with...unless of course every supplier has its own fabrication plant - but then you could just make your own, slightly different miniatures and sell them yourself anyways.
I'm pretty sure all GW can really do about it is stop selling to the blacklisted suppliers. If the suppliers get their hands on the merchandise GW cannot stop them from selling the items.
I purchased a Zenith remote for about $100 Cdn, it features a large LCD screen (about half the top surface of the large remote), which is a multi-function touch screen.
It can control anything I've thrown at it so far, including StarChoice (actually as a *C code - very tough to find!) and my two part technics dolby digital system - which had been a real PITA - it has a separate decoder from the tuner and you needed two remotes for it (the decoder part for changing inputs, the receiver part for volume, etc.) - because it is fully programmable I was able to merge both remotes to one set on this unit and just use the buttons I needed.
Great remote, although the touchscreen went wonky one time - I was about to take it back when it started working again (I think it was batteries...) - this was six + months ago and I've had no problems since.
(been trying to find a model number, picture or link, but no luck yet sorry)
Not that ingenious! They are squeezing too hard! Our company is actually reviewing (seriously reviewing, like in the process of acting...) using Linux for several services. MS is just plain too expensive, and their incessant need to lock everyone in (and all competition out) is basically scaring us away as well. They've gone too far and they are going farther...and quite simply, we're not going to take it anymore!
I'm sure we'll continue to use MS products in the future, but only where they are the best option, and we will not be forced to use them!
I dunno, I think I'd rather have a senate, that in general, deals with things of national importance and not wasting their time making specific laws to deal with the possiblity of people getting ripped off on a CD purchase.
Having laws to protect consumers is important to be sure, and I am glad that this senator is trying to protect consumer rights, but IMO a law so specific and narrow has now business taking up federal government time. Rather they should just make sure that there are generic laws to cover such situations, something like "Products not operating correctly on consumer equipment must be fully refunded".
Let's see...
;)
Pauly Shore??
Tom Arnold???
Hey, these people aren't so great, what the hell is going on here?
-yeah I know the quote is 100%, and I'm sure someone will correct it

Hey, guess what Mr. AC Troll, some people actually use their computers for more than pr0n!

How about "Is *that* hard to find software you want?"
Yes.

Hehe, I'm amused by the article where it mentions that little information has been released on gameplay.
Now maybe i'm crazy, but I think it'll involve some running, jumping, and bouncing off of bad guys...

I really liked Revenge of Shinobi (Genesis), but I think Shinobi III was my favorite. Didn't care for Shadow Dancer so much, but the dog was cool!
