    CNet news reports that DivX is doing its best to become a digital video compression standard, and has been very successful in courting DVD manufacturers to adopt the DivX format.

    For the porn - that's easy. Zip up the MPEG/avi and the closer the file approaches a compression rate of 50%, the more likely that it is porn.

    I mean...seriously...porn consists of mainly 2 motion frames, albeit displayed repeatedly.

    And to add on to what gaijin has already said, this "stunt" was requested by the White House staff, which cost some astronomical sum (I heard in the single-digit millions?) to have to startup the carrier's engines and move it away from the shore so that the aircraft can do its landing.

    Well, Ford has been on its Linux plan for at least 2-3 years. So it would be difficult for them to pull back after spending monstrous amounts of IT budget on this thing.

    I was interviewing with them last year (got the job, but had to decline it), and believe me - they were really gung-ho on Linux. Even the top enchilada PHB CIO at Ford who gave the welcoming speech talked about it.

    From what I've heard from my friend, India is going through the same cycle the US did 5-8 years ago. Hack VB script chodes are overflowing the HR resume piles in Bangalore. Their HR people are having a tough time sifting through all the fakes from the Real McCoys (resumes with 20 different language/software skills versus someone who's actually skilled)

    Same with the place I work in. But I think they're much, much more receptive and welcoming if you're sending people there to train their workers. Big difference from the guy mentioned in the article who just wanted a paycheck.
