Hey. Face it. If either of them is better it will get the jobs. It's a good opportunity to privatise the heavily funded NASA. Welcome to the world of economy and the market model. A bit of competition should work well. Now only hope nobody changes to the M$-model (build first, debug later) to save money.
" Cutts, 43, of Anoka, takes several of her five children when she goes geocaching. 'It gets the kids outdoors, away from TV,' said Cutts. 'We see wildlife. We talk.'"
And she sounds like she's proud of it. Probably she fails to see the irony.
I hate to say and see it, but homeland security takes away all the freedoms Americans have. Like this example: if they claim you're a terrorist, you're put away and loose (almost) all your rights.
extreme situations, like terrorism ask for extreme measures, but this is absurd.
My view of the future would be one where the UN and the NATO have more power than now. a future where all countries, no exceptions, wouldonly use their army in a NATO context. this also counts for france in africa.
fighting unjustice is ok, but we all should agree on what that unjustice is. a dictator in africa deserves the same treatment as any other dictator.
countries should contribute a fair share in money and people for such an international army.
i know this doesn't solve the current crisis, but it's something for the future.
don't blame us that you spend 40% of your GNP on your army.
apart from the french and the germans, you had your chance for a coalition. but only if it was through the un, but if the us decides to do it their own way....
your freedom doesnt give you the freedom to invade whatever country you like.
i'd rather see saddam gone _with_ international support than with an us solo operation.
I didn't see that one coming. just as the fact that - i didn't see the war coming - terroriste aren't the only reason to attack - internal conflicts start when bush is gone. - europe has to clean up the country once bush is gone.
mod me down, but mark my words.
just take that stable democracy in Afghanistan as an example.
every isp (or a lot of them) should install this to get is working. as spammer i have a lot of time. let the computer do the work. if it takes a little longer to spam, who cares.
and false positives...
but the initiative is good.
personally i'd like to call a spammer (of possible) to explain i don't give s sheit about hos offerings. many times it tames a while to get through. aparently i'm not the only one calling;-)
Ever heared about a spam-relay? With this method you'll only get (most of the times) the relaying host and STILL the spammer doesn't get is. i'd say read the e-mail and use whois and CALL THE FUCKERS. mail the registrants, complain about yahoo addresses for administrative contacts. waste their personal time. I wouldn't give a shit if it would take ond day to spam a lot of people or just one hour, but if i had to answer the phone all day without making any money...
what a world. phone spam, sms spam, e-mail spam. i'd say spam is a violation of my privacy. let's get then a general spammers restraining order;-)
But that is alreadt in use a long time...

In the netherlands a system like that was adopted about 4 or 5 years ago. at first it didn't catch on, but with the euro, a whole bunch of new applications were created for chip-money (calles the chipper or the chip-knip, where knip is a dutch word for wallet)
at the moment all the coffee and candy machines in the university work with it, you can use it in many shops, you can use it to make calls. in the university restaurants you can pay with it. and in cities like rotterdan and amsterdam you MUST pay with it when you want to park your car. This saves a lot of theft from those machines and fraud from the employees who emptie them.
I can say that, i think. I connected my tv's on/off to the rs232 of my computer. Why? Ths choise was simple. I had no remote on my tv, so this was a practical solition;-)
"The default unchecked boxes that are visible at the outset clearly lead the user to believe that ALL of the boxes are unchecked, and the avg customer probably won't think to scroll all the way down and uncheck these boxes."
probably i'm not the avg customer, but how hard can it be, scrolling down?
An other thing is the hotmail trick. add a new spam feature ans assume all the users are interested and check the 'i want spam' checkboxes. not THAT was dirty.

somehow sharing isn't going to be an option i guess.
Big Brother says you can not have this information.
He will do everything to keep our ROT-13 encryption secrit.
thoughtcrime will be punished.

I'm prepared!!
it does require a patch, but it's integrated in the statefull module of ipchains.
example: iptables -A INPUT -m state --state EVIL -j DROP
my last uodate of win2k has introduced a flaw on my os that causes it to slow down when releasing the system for a shutdown.
before the update: about 10 secs.
after the update: over one minute.
I solved this issue in FuzQ0000001
use the powerswitch to shut down the computer.

whitelists are only interesting for personal mail.
how about companies. for them this is no solution.
Simple. I view my messages LIFO and mod them in the same order.
:)
Please do so too

make a list of validated e-mail addresses and move them to the inbox before you run the spam-filter.
and if you have access to a linux server and have a set of rescue floppies, you also can access the system with / access and add an extra user.
with physical access you can do quite a lot.
put the hd of the to be hacked computer in an other and voila (unless you have a secure file system)

Usually I don't compress my spam.
;-)
I delete it.
This will save me a lot more space
We're fighting spam, bannerads and god knows what more and now there are sites devoted only to tv-commercials?
What a world...
My logfiles started reporting the worm at 6:30 (The Netherlands) and after an uninterrupted strean of packages it seems to have stopped at 15:32 :)
I agree. a good firewall will do the trick also, but one infected server in your closed circuit and they all be infected.
and there always is the human factor of error (the existance of the worm is a nice example) so you can never be 100% sure you're safe.
On the internet, always use some kind of protection.
