As a designer that uses both companies programs extensively....photoshop and dreamweaver the top 2 right now, I am very curious as to how this will play out.
My biggest hope is that this will create some real cross program compatibility between all of their native formats. Adobe is very good about making the jump with a file between all of their programs, and I'll look forward to doing that to MM stuff too.
My biggest fear is the monopoly of programs angle, and losing the magic that made these companies what they are.... the innovation and usability being key.
I hope they take the best from both and do something great.
yep, thats a new record for initials in a post, but I have to remark that this is very similar to KCRW in Los Angeles, california, USA.
They are at the forefront of podcasting radio shows to the public. They were one of the firsts to simulcast on the web as well. I do not find it suprising that this forward thinking website that caters to a intelligent demographic is also a public broadcasting station tied to NPR (national public radio).
I hope this is a boon for public broadcasting in geenral.... great ideas!
1. What about those laptops couldnt still run spelling programs? Are the kids teaching programs really running framerates they cant handle?:)
2. Who is the moron that decided that the school didnt need the $? I'm sure those laptops could have paid for quite a few of the new computers they seem to need.
You should maybe install an anti virus and spyware program. They work great... I've never had a virus or spyware on this win2000 box.
Sounds like you had bad habits to get all that stuff... and when the virus writers get interested in LINUX if it ever gets popular, you'll be back in the same boat.
sure its real... here's the line blurred for ya.

Of course these people dont think they live ina fantasy world... but here's the reality of it.
These people have a very real connection to the entertainment, social, and self image (among many other things) aspects of playing this game. The ways you can gain prominence, excell, get friends, make a splash, whatever it is they are talking about (swords and money are prime examples).
When someone takes that from you or offers to sell it to you, it has real world implications to their lives that are no less real than anything else. It does not matter what social construct it is.
Going down to my local club where every girl is dressed up and dancing is also complete surreal to the normal world around me. And if I drive up in a nice car (+5 pimp/has money) and wearing a rolex (+3 nice job) it has effect on that world too. And it's the bsuiness owners job to make it as surreal as possible just like a game... with flashy lights to make the girls look better, and drinks to.... make the girls look better (and the guys too).
It's all about power and these people are just living it with a game as the medium. But it's no less real. Odd maybe, not so accepted, yes, but it's very real... as that guys rage in killing someone demonstrates quite well.
Like when people who have seen an argument before list a bunch of the arguments they think will appear.... yeah, that's never been done before as a way to argue on/..... lol.
I can probably find quite a few of these methods. I'n debate we often cite the oppositions arguments beforehand to take the steam out of them. You just do it with blanket precision.
As someone who is a windows user I'd like to see objective direct comparisons for all OS's so that I can see what will be seamless and what i will have trouble with so i can see what I'm getting myself into.
I guess an analogy might be buying a new type of car. I only have my current car to judge the new one by, and I know my old car pretty well... so how does it stack up to my old car, and what are these new models they are offering.
Actually you want them to be able to open it, and there might be a good chance that the people wanting to see an rating AREN'T using open software, but are considering it.
"Really? Cite a biblical reference that states this date!"
We're sorry, but citing facts and giving proof is the realm of science and logic. For things related to the bible, please see our section on "blind faith", or "believing things with no proof".
Amazon got sued first... and just because they withdrew their case later doesn't mean they forgot... it could just mean they didn't have a case... and if I was Amazon, and I HAD LET THEM use MY patent... I'd turn right around and devestate them.
There's not alot... maybe some shit talking,e tc.... and writing spyware/malware.
It's the most craptastically lowbrow malicious deceitful business model that really F's alot of people. I have so many friends that are just destroyed by this crap. Serious financial damage.
Wow, how did they get speilberg to sign on for a toy movie? I wonder what his motivation is since he can do whatever the hell he wants... and it's my beloved transformers...
Well, "milestone" is lofty, but this certainly does lend legtimacy to the software as a real tool just like, say, winzip or anything else that just does a job, and people use it for good and "bad".
Should make Opera look good too.
The underlying thing here that looks great for BT is that Opera must have done some due diligence and decided they were on good legal ground to embed the software... which may be seen as a green light for others to do the same.
That was the most PC way I've ever seen someone say "they obviously dont care about his moral fiber or his ability to destroy property as part of his hobby without remorse, and decided to give hima job because theyd rather have him on their side because yeah, he's good, and we'll, they dont care about the rest".
Wait. If you go back and read the article it said he did it the wrong way.
I think this guy is a tool, but he very well could have just decided to try and make a pool of money for these charities and promoted it... but didnt know there was apperwork that needed to be done to do it "officially".
He could very well have donated every penny as he probably stated he would.
I dont think it's too far off that if i decided to go collect some money from my neighbors and take it to the red cross, that I may be breaking some law, as good intentioned as I may be.

WOW, can anyone figure out the average length and time elapsed on sessions now across the US?
My P3N1S would probably be huge... and I'd last forever with that much V1AG3RA and CIâIS.

3. Any left?
Everyone is at the sale...
"What's that smell? Absolute power!"
;)
Actually, if you're ina bar, thats 'ABSOLUT' power you are using

"All glory to the Council!"
They got the iraqi information minister?
I saw the Al Quaeda myspace profile months ago.
I demand equal time for the teaching of scripts for both science.... and Scifi.
Just like the president said we should. OK kids.... 1 for science, one for ID, one for science...

Horray for Amazon taking the fight back to them.

So yeah, I'd deck a punk for it.
"Average Joes don't want to run Linux, because their programs won't run on it"
While you're pretty damn right, you know you can get hung around here talking like that?
You need to badmouth SCO or something.... balance man, balance.
"And this has to do with rights online ...... how exactly?"
Online is where I'm going to download your fingerprints, thats how.
probably @ alt.shashdot.troll.fingerprints

anyone have any insight?
Hey guys... just real quick.
If any of you stop laughing at this idea let me know, so I'll have a rough idea of when I'll stop laughing.
Thanks!

will it be a jedi congressman first?
or will it be a scientologist first?
(cue tom cruise bouncing around)
both "religions" spewed from sci-fi... so why not a race to the white house from the pages/silverscreen?
