not to sound like an advertisement for iiyama, but i bought an iiyama visionmaster pro 502 like 9 years ago and it's still is an awesome monitor. Heavy and big, but very good quality and performance.

You can get a real portible device that is made to play movies like the iriver pmp. Yeah, cuz i want to walk around with my flaming pink photo ipod and pimp out quicktime slideshows with sound.
Simple as that. There are other places to work/other professions to enjoy. Complaining about it accomplishes nothing. It's all about maximizing profit. You (or you SO) works their asses off for nothing other than a boot when they don't like it while the upper management (whom i'm sure don't share the same hours or work days) profits. Like i said before, you don't pay for email, nor do you own permission to use your email address. Get over it. You don't pay to support the routers that the messages bounce off of, the backbones which the messages are relayed off or nor the protocal which the message is transfered by. If you want to control what happens to the message when it gets to your server/computer/account, by all means do so.
Just like you pay for cable it doesn't mean that you control what's on tv. You pay for access to view the channels. You control what channels you want to view or even if the TV is on or not. That's what email is like. If you don't like what you're getting, then filter it. If you want to apply some value to how long it takes you to filter what you get, go right ahead, but that's just nonsense. If you don't know how to use a TV remote (email filtering) don't ask the gov't to step in and regulate it for you (spamming laws).

You're a friggin' ass. You don't pay for email. It's a FREE service. Your company may pay you to take care of their exchange service only because your company makes money by providing email to it's employees. Don't mix the whole "I didn't consent to email" when you leave yourself wide open to recieve everything.
Email is free. How can people associate a cost of recieving emails that they didn't want? What, you have to hit delete for the emails you don't want? Do you know how much money you save by sending emails instead of actually mailing messages or calling the recepient?

actually i was thinking of making it all voice activated... but err... yeah, your points are valid... I'm not looking to stare at this when driving, I'm just looking to augment what i already have. There's nothing i really need it to show other than what song is playing/what temp my tranny is at, ect... some diagnostics and if it's all voice activated and plays through the car speakers, i can just ask it what i want. Perfect example of hands free computing.
I could see how this is relavent if this sets a precident so that everyone who has an lcd screen up front by the driver is automatically assumed guilty of negligence. I thinking of putting a touchscreen lcd up front so that i could display extra gauges at a minimal price and automotive know how (I know how to install a computer and that's basically all it takes). I'd have second thoughts if he's presumed guilty.
Can someone explain to me how recording a TV show and hosting it is a violation of copyrights? It was broadcasted. You're telling me that my Tivo violates copyright laws? And if it doesn't, how does sharing what my Tivo recorded with someone else is a violation?
Why people should stop translating manga or anime once something becomes licensed. It makes no sense to me that a foreign book or tv show can suddenly become un-sharable when a company buys the rights to it in the US. These are japanese books/shows, not US version. They should be free to trade. And yes i know about the WTO Tripps treaty, which makes no sense (are they even elected officials who make treaties?).
