    A Bit of a Tip if you upgrade to firefox .9 you can put a copy of the program on a flashkey and then use a .bat file to run the whole thing from the key. So you can run about with a copy of firefox (and TB) to demo for the IE crowd. Also you can have the "open in IE" plugin installed so you can just right-click the link to open it in MSIE (same way you would open it in a TAB)

    vast majority of the time first bill + 10 days would be less than 30 days due to the way billing cycles are done Ive seen customers get hotlined* two days after they got their phone because they got billed the next day! (* hotlined is when the phone gets cut due to nonpayment and a limit is put on the account)

    easy fix just get your phone at a verison dealer that has to print the contract out first like maybe a certain "guild of the circle R" that has about 5,000 locations. Or get crazy and demand to see one of their paper copies. Or Mis-sign the contract so you can contest it later ie sign as John QVOID Public

    The next disadvantage is that you have to DO SOMETHING, e.g install it - you geeks would be amazed what a huge problem that is for 99% of mankind. ---------------- so what you do is grab a copy of the current stable Moz and rig your site with a pop-up that states "To correctly view this site requires the Mozilla "viewer" would you like to install it??" assuming that moz supports some sort of auto install not a problem

    Cell Phone: ... get just what you need with a large cell phone from the 80's. With all the EMF generated by this analog phone, no crook would be caught stealing one of these! ------------- and currently effectively illegal* to activate (in the USA) However if you look hard enough you still can get a "just phone" cell phone (and some carriers will just about pay you to take them) *(activating a NON E-911 handset causes a ~$300.00 fine for the carrier)

    What if someday it turned out that the disc 4 of a super set was a Live CD of Linux (maybe a dual intel/ppc disc)? Throw in some %movie% based theme for the WM and it might work.

    Might i suggest that you put together a "Geek On Disc" with current copies of Mozilla, Ad-aware, and SpyBot Search and destroy (add OO.O If you can) Drop a Readme file that disavows any link between the cd and your employer and... (note IANAL you kight want to check with one)

    And Andromeda...starts out with this gimmick of a holographic hot chick representing the ship (sort of a video version of Star Trek's talking female ship voice). Then they drop all pretense and somehow she becomes a walking talking hologram. (easy holo-emiter network around the ship) And then later, I'm not sure, but did she end up turning into a real girl somehow? (hacked ships drone because the ships engineer 1 found some docs 2 needed a "girlfriend") And those stupid names. God, who the hell green lights crap like "Rev Blem" or "Trance Gemini".. (no comment)

    In short though, the Skyline GT-R is limited to the same 280hp as my car. But Nissan has designed the entire car as a 600hp car, and chipping the car very quickly gives you nearly 600hp. SIX HUNDRED! As I said, some cars are meant to be chipped. -- This kind of thing makes me wonder when does the ticket change from a Police ticket (speeding) to an FAA ticket (flying too low)??

    Anyway, how about a "disable Flash" button? Or just a STOP THE MOVEMENT button to make a freakin' page readible without needing Dramamine. If newspaper ads twirled, flipped, burped and gyrated I'd meet the paperboy with a full metal jacket each morning until it stopped. -- first don't shoot the messenger second prefbar has a "kill flash" button and i think adblock also does this

    1. I decide I don't like pop-ups. 2. I install a pop-up blocker. 3. You use pop-ups to advertise your product. 4. Your pop-up manages to avoid my blocker. 5. I see your ad and I think "Oh it's *that* product! Oh well that's okay then, I don't mind at all that *that* product is being pushed at me. I will buy that product immediately!" -- i would say that the best response is 5 If i happen to need %product% find somebody else that sells that product AND BUY THAT ONE

    Has anybody seen a multiplayer game where the characters can't be sorted into Sprite, Warroir , Wizard , Savage and Knight and the game played differently acording to which character you used? example game set in a castle the Sprite character starts in one of the towers the Knight starts at the Front door. The Sprite needs to escape the castle. The Knight needs to find the Sprite. The Sprite game is all hide and evade and the knight is Hack and Slash (some puzzle stuff). Golden Path would be both meet in the middle. So anybody want to do the Code?

    Having known people who work for the SSA, I've heard stories of having to deal with processing a legitimate information request for a major figure, such as an actor or member of Congress, and having to explain every aspect of the actions taken the next day, because any processing of data using a flagged number triggers an internal review. If you try and use that SSN for anything, you'll very quickly be getting a visit from some individuals with their sense of humor surgically removed, and you'll very likely not be seen for a while. --- You mean the Area 51 project hasn't engineered griffins without a sense of humour yet??

    Yep. And "most government offices" includes Federal government, like say the Department of the Navy, for whom I'm contracting. We routinely use VPN and NAT; in fact we need VPN for personnel on travel to connect to our network and do certain mission essential tasks. I can only imagine the scene when some state AG and the ISP he's working for decides to take down the Navy. -- and the long /lat/elav numbers for the AGs office are???

    Okay folks since this seems to be a group of smart folks The Company Name is RadioShack and has been for the last 4? years. Please even if you are insulting the company spell it correctly. Also if you give info give correct (but flagged) info. Rumour has it soon the RadioShacks will get info from more than one store on a where do we get customers basis.
