    point of interest Boies has redone that agreement to drop the stock part out. The Big Money in this is targetting various payments that TSCOG has done to various folks (including Darl and the rest of the CxO group)

    Judge Gross does have the power to require a ROLLBACK of some of this money.

    Oh and Novell would not be A Creditor since the funds have been ruled to be "converted" (humans would say STOLEN)
    so Taxes and Novell get paid first then the creditors list rolls down.

    okay so lets do a car analogy you pay $Station for "unlimited Gas" @ $2000 a month
    and you are told single car only now what $station doesn't know is you drive a SUV
    and you drive a lot so you are clicking what would be $90.00 bills almost daily so
    instead of asking you to switch to a larger plan or tell you that you getting to much
    they start dropping the octane on your gas to say 30 octane (from the 87 you are supposed to get)
    or they always seem to have problems with the pump you are at.

    For a Gas station these would be suicide (and in the octane case a felony) why is it okay for ISPs?

    my take on this is by the time somebody is willing to try this kind of thing again what will happen is as follows

    the Geek/Exec on the left wing seat will turn to the Geek/Exec on the right wing seat and get eye contact
    the Geek on the right seat will nod and then they both will hit [crtl]+[alt]+[meta]+! and put their laptops on the bulkhead. Less than 30 seconds later the wings of the plane will be blown off.

    Or Some group of RedNecks will start a fight with the highjackers

    easy way to gate around that BEFORE THE TRANSACTION STARTS have documented that
    "The Following forms of payment are not to be used
      1 Cash
      2 starter or computer generated checks without preprinted bank and owner information
      3 Credit Cards drawn on Non-US accounts"

    besides who in their right mind doesn't bring that much lettuce to a Bank (excluding
    Made Family Members and those folks that otherwise run around with a trio of armed guards)?

    combine this with the little fact that a retailer is NOT REQUIRED TO SELL TO ANY AND ALL COMERS
    In states with CCW permits and no permit needed states and you will get some rather polite
    folks just handing you their ID and CC to buy an iPhone.

    Please note even if you are in a No Guns area you should never be a JackAss to a Shopkeeper
    (summon the Police and then explain the situation)

    okay here is a a funny thought if a given "black box" can support a total of 500mbs to a set of customers then why do companies sell "unlimited 20mbs download" to 50 different folks. if i am being charged for X speed then i should be able to say 80% of the time download at that speed.

    Over selling the lines should be a felony.

    actually the reason Microsoft did the Novell deal is to have at least one of the parties "off the table"
    RedHat sues/gets sued by Microsoft over patents

    IBM sues Microsoft
    AT&T sues Microsoft
    Several other of the heavies sue Microsoft
    OIN sues Microsoft

    Im sure that there is a very nonpublic agreement in the Heavies ring that reads (in leagalese) Sue One Sue ALL and the Big thing is BELL Labs at one time did a couple hundred patents a day

    that "could" brick the phone is because you could purchase a "lotto" ticket and win on the first try but its unlikely
    Will Brick > Might Brick > Could Brick > NonZero Chance of Bricking > We are unaware of any cases that would cause "bricking" and have tested as many unlock methods as we are aware of > Can't Brick.

    I would think that IPhone version 1.6.7u will have an official unlock method (but then they wiil be past the AT&T contract by then.

    it depends on the exact size of the easement and if there is any other way to get the job done. whatever is done Somebody needs to CALL BEFORE YOU DIG
    so given that the lower half of the property connects to yours and that your property has some sort of drain point i would hope that your neighbor would at least tell you before the backhoe turns up.

    besides any grad student that would stand this kind of project is cheap to buy/secure

    80% of the job is just having an account with #pizza_place the students can use (proper debug media and coding fluid works wonders)

    the problem with that is "sunk cost" and what happens if your roll goes very bad ie roll 2d6 if you roll a 9 you win but what happens if you roll 2 (aka Snakeyes or a critical fail)
    besides to pull this kind of thing off your best bet is to have multiple teams working together that cause everything to come together on a certain day.
