    whats funny is all the folks that have a Windows Vista "anytime upgrade" disc i think have a Vista install disc (or at least a disc with the install image on it)
    personally i think that a computer should come with a set of discs that have
    1 just the OS
    2 base software preload
    3 bonus software preload
    4 trial software preload
    (of course the trick of having a seperate / and home partition is a good idea

    of course if you use a format that you can just link the formatting in at the end then you are gold but
    all final documents should always be converted to text to break the meta data chain.

    even if you have to save the document to a cdrw and then shred the disc when you are done remove the meta data
    or replace the meta data with the "correct" public data never have a document with privileged meta data "floating around"

    i would add 3 things to your list

    1 a massive fine if a visa is filed for but not used
    2 a requirement that all visas be matched with a visa for "dependent persons" (basically if you want a father you need to pay for his wife and kids to move also
    bonus points for a requirement that the company is required to pay for the kids to go to school)
    3 a requirement that on long term visas if the holder wants to stay then the company must file the needed paperwork after 4 years (at the 2 years remaining mark)

    no patents should exist where the patent does not involve an actual physical object so any pure process/program patent should be thrown out

    if you can't throw it you can't patent it (larger objects you would use a crane)

    the biggest problem of being an 800 pound gorilla is what happens when you find yourself on the turf of a pack of large fraction of a ton POLAR BEARS
    (females are your size and males are 2 times that ) answer

    1 you can't move properly
    2 you are the wrong color (no camo can't hide)
    3 even if you tried to swim your way out you will be an apecicle with in seconds (and PBs can swim and they like it cold)

    video performance is kind of like trying to drive in a city where maps (actual correct as of this moment ones) are top secret burn before reading
    some stuff you can just guess (main library police office fire department city hall factories over that away homes over this away) but some things you need to get a chunk of map (like 2nd 4th 9th streets all have half streets next to them and 8th st is north only) then you get into wierd stuff like both an airport and a seaport with situations where you can get a ticket if you drive the wrong car to one of the ports (or even that you are driving a CAR AT ALL).

    plus some of the OEMS do tricks like have a flash upgrade change bits of the map or change chips on newer versions of the same board.

    in short it becomes a game where not only do you not have the names of the players but you are not sure exactly what game is being played

    Um and if thats not bad enough next month sometime [cue acdc track name "hells bells"] Dell will be offering at the home level (ie website and cart monkeys) systems with UBUNTU LINUX PREINSTALLED i would say the school shopping season will be very interesting this year.

    i have a 7500 AIW and my only quible is the phantom KM module (required to do capture)

    if you have the packages for gatos (or the ati dkms set)
    you should be able to get both avview and xawtv to work (both programs may not auto set to sane values but..)

    the sequence is the hex key to HDDVD decryption its the "master key" so if you are hacking together an HDDVD player you will need this key somewhere

    its not that splits don't count its that the split/dump/resplit/redump cycle will most likely cause thier stock to break one of the other trigger values so even if they do a 10-1 reverse split if the stock then dumps 90% of value (currently trapped investors bailing out) SCOX will ram into the "market cap" triggerwall.

    of course then we have the problem that there are a few different PSJs that will cause massive damage to the cases if they go the not TSCOG way.

    okay here is the problem
    you can talk about being able to "prove" that an event happened all you want and define that as what ever you want
    but for you to say the same thing during a forensics conference there is a very long list of requirements.

    or define the word "kosher" for me (nonsouthern baptist) and you have one meaning (edible ,okay to use, legal)
    but try the same definition during an orthodox jewish conference (or during say Passover) and you will meet Rabi Cluesov

    the big thing is secondary and teterary explosions (ie cases that will spin up just after the current one gets gaveled)
    we have
    1 the BSF bar cases
    2 the TSCOG officers cases
    3 the Microsoft / Baystar cases
    4 the officer cases from 3

    it stands to reason that a bunch of folks are going to be fitted for orange jumpsuits so the next few years will be very nasty for some folks
    (i would bet that PJ will be deposed by Novell/ IBM /SEC/DOJ in an "undisclosed location" to pick up her part of this mess and you know what
    SHE WILL BE HAPPY TO DO THIS FOR A PROPERLY WRITTEN ORDER)

    lan = a bunch of computers in the same building all wired together
    Wlan = a bunch of computers in the same building with radios talking together
    wan (with no L) = a bunch of buildings all wired (or not) talking together
    Man = a city worth of buildings talking together (or what you call to get your computer back connected)
    FLAN = gotta good cookbook?

    the Internet would be a special version of a WAN (in this case World Area Network or would it be a FLAN?)

    Inside the Time Warner group RR is Road Runner (yes btw that Road Runner) this would be the name for timewarner cable internet service
    the reverse dns for a Road Runner customer should look like cpe-#ip address#.#region#.res.rr.com
    this breaks down to
    cpe= Customer Premises Equipment
    ip address = what do you think?? you do belong on Slashdot right??
    region = "which" timewarner
    res =residential service
    rr.com = primary domain

    (oh btw triad ips seem to be more or less static)
