To play the Devil's Advocate - Sounds like a pretty easy case of being able to prove it wasn't you. And before you say 'It is their job to prove it was you, not the other way around', sending the picture of the vehicle doing it is their way of proving guilt.

On the surface, I might agree. Except if a human had processed the information it wouldn't have ever gotten to me.

But the machine found me guilty. The appeals process, as explained in the automated ticket, involves paying the fine first, and appealing second. If you win your appeal you will get the $50 back...

  10. Intent. on Slot Machine with Bad Software Sends Players To Jail · · Score: 1

When you put money in a slot machine, you are not actualy required to play. You can hit cash out and get your money out.. Or, you can put $10 in at once, and play 25 cent rolls. It adds and subtracts credits as you go.

So.. If the customers were putting in a dollar and immediately hitting "cash out" and getting 10 back. Without playing (or minimally).. put those 10 back in, hit cash out.. put those 100 back in, and hit cashout.. lather rinse repeat.. then I think the casino has a case. Minimally I would expect the casino to black book the customer.

The casinos know exactly who played what and how.

If it's someone that put a roll if $1 coins in.. played, and cashed out w/o noticing the infraction.. The casino should ask nicely for the money back, and maybe offer to pay for a trip back to vegas, and take it on the chin.

I find it amusing that one of the reason the casinos know who these people were was by use of their frequent player cards. Without cards it would get harder to track (Look at hotel registration video/logs, etc).

Are you saying a private business can't ask someone to leave and never come back?

In the US, any business can ask anyone to leave and not come back. Retail stores use this to keep shop lifters from coming back, and casinos use this to get rid of Black Jack card counters. If you do come back they have you arrested for trespassing.

In a casino's case they also publish your name, face, and description with a detective agency that gives the information to most of the other casino's in the country. Not too long after you enter another casino, you are asked to leave again.

In an earlier thread someone recommended "Bringing down the House" about some MIT students beating casinos at blackjack (Team card counting), great book.
