"Various versions of Word aren't 100% compatible. Dvorak and some editors tried to use the change-tracking markup, and "we had a huge mess." What was this mess? He didn't specify."
Ahh, yes. I was writing a paper with two colleagues and we were making heavy use of the "Track changes" feature. Eventually the changes became too many and Word would crash whenever I tried to open up the document. This was Word XP to Word XP, although the person using Word 2000 also experienced the crashing problem.
Word's containers aren't any different than HTML with CSS, which is easy and human-readable. So this page still does not explain why Word is so brain-damaged sometimes. Like pasting a picture into a two-column layout can really mess things up. I wish Word would let me see the bloody "containers" so I can figure out what's going wrong.
...I can't ever seem to finish one. I loved GTA2 for the PC, then got GTA3 and played it a long time, got bored, never finished. GTA3:Vice City was the same way, though the plot was more interesting. I'll probably pick this up (and a playstation 2) when it comes out, but I probably won't beat it:(
Amen. I had an online aquaintence IM me that "omg I have WineX." Then he told me he pirated it (this is after he asked me to send him my paid-for binaries). Of course he answered "yes."
I think TG is doing a good thing, and I don't see a big deal in marking downloads, because hey, I bought my copy. Just because most everything on Linux is free software doesn't mean you should pirate software - use the normal Wine, or the Cedega CVS. Its not hard...unless you're a fucking moron Windows user who's only doing Linux because "omfg lol its teh free"
Saw AVP last night with some friends...the whole theater was laughing at the lame lines, stupid shots, etc.
[SPOILER ALERT] I didn't expect any romance from this movie, but the romantic tension between the ice climber girl and the predator was thrilling! LOL. After she has to shoot the Italian, she turns to the predator, and I thought she was going to say "Hold me." This movie is bad, very bad.
Here is another example of where open source is useful. If it were a Linux virus, you could modify your kernel/glibc/whatever with checks, traps, etc. to target this specific virus, and it would be much more difficult for a virus to detect that it was running under a modified system, as opposed to a debugger.
I have two different LG cell phones (one work, one home) that I'd like to keep sync'ed to my address book. I'd also like to learn more about KDE. So maybe I'll start something.
Actually it does. Those are the codecs you have to install when playing, for example, an XVid or DivX file. The first time you play an unknown file Media Player tries to download the correct codec (plugin).
No one said "Ask the community every time a decision comes up." But the switch away from Qute was never publicized until it's (perhaps) too late. A good community listens to it's members. There is not THE DEVELOPERS and THE COMMUNITY. The devs are part of the community.
After you get ALSA loaded, run alsamixer and set the main volume and the PCM volume (that's what it's called on my card anyway) to the middle. Then try playing a song. ALSA mutes all the sound card's channels by default. When you find a good volume run
alsactl store
to save the volumes - most distros will call alsactl restore when they boot so your volumes get restored.

You get your news from SCO?
Typo not withstanding
Incorrect troll! The song is titled "Birdhouse in your sould" and the lyrics are "make a little birdhouse in your soul."
You are hereby sentenced to listen to J-Lo and Avril's rendition of "Jingle Bells" for three hours!
Personally I prefer a more straight-forward, serious look at robo nazi's and how they affected the outcome of WW2

Yeah, it's called an "American Express" membership; pretty common in the Southern Baptist churches.
I was thinking about the Bitpim code, which I use with Windows at the office to manage my work phone.

This is simply a troll posted everytime a story about GNOME comes up.
Maybe something like this?
Can't find the article right now, but this is an old project, and was linked to a loooong time ago. I still have the bookmark to the guy's website.
That is my function and variable names. If you're using any kind of decent editory, just change the fonts/colors it uses.
You can't use X with Y...they are competing graphical systems! :)
I think you're forgetting iMacs!
And one more thing...

I guess I cropped it accidentally.
I hope you get your sound card working. I have my SBLive working (previously under LFS and now Gentoo).
