The memory is not faulty. It is a bug in the filesystem software. The memory isn't full, but there are more files than the rover can handle. They were basically letting everything pile up, so the rover had eighteen days worth of files (and pre-landing files on top of that.) With the other rover they are deleting the files after they are received on Earth.
The iPods, mini or otherwise, are overpriced. Plus they go to the form over function route to neglect important things like a door to change the battery.
The development of agriculture in the Fertile Crescent was recently in the news in my hunter-gather nomadic camp. They are getting a system of managing crops and animals that will allow them to fire most of their hunters and gatherers. This is why I only live with my dirty hunter-gatherer band.
Gutenberg was recently in the news in my city. He is getting a new printing press that will allow everyone to fire most of their manuscript-writing monks. That is why I only buy illustrated manuscripts.
Ford and Chrysler were recently in the news in my city. They are getting a new horseless carriage system that will allow them to fire most stablehands. This is why I only use horse transportation.
In Firearms (HL mod) you can (at least a year or more back when I played it) call down artillery. They could really mess up the game if Friendly Fire was off, too.
The advanced features that are disabled are ones that depend on you telling the Google servers what site you are visiting - like the pagerank display. They're not really doing anything evil.
So there's two stories about some bore ass study but not one story about the fact that goatse.cx has been censored. What the fuck? I know there have to be about 300,000 submissions about the goatse story too. Are the editors in denial of goatse man? He's just a guy with a big anus. You get over seeing it pretty soon.
It varies depending on whether it's transmitting to Earth or to Mars orbit and possibly varies by some other factors, but it's slower than a cheap DSL line and often slower than a 56k modem. I think the highest number I ever saw was around 152 kbits/second.
Halo had a great single player in most every department, the major exception being indoor level design and "now go through the whole area BACKWARDS!"

Hmm. I have certainly opened 1 GIGAbyte files (without any 1 KILObyte metadata file) without much trouble.
Tim
Nah, just don't open the attachment.
Tim
I see that today I got three MyDoom e-mails on my older account and none on my newer account.
Tim
iPod owns the market in the $300-500 range because everyone else's MP3 players cost less than $300.
Tim
Good design, like no door to change the battery? That's genius design right there.
Tim
30 GB MP3 player, $19 more than iPod mini.

This is the internet. You are allowed to say "ass."
Tim
I don't know, there's not much reason for the pyro...
(Actually, he can be alright if there's enough people playing that you can afford to have one.)
Tim
So Unix is inferior at transmitting metadata. Thanks for letting me know that.

It's way cooler to believe I have a little bit of sensitivity to the infrared. (I'm told this is somewhat common.)
Tim
The editors are in denial. They ain't gonna post that story.
Tim
For sure I can see the infrared too if I look very closely. It just looks like a very dim red glow, though, nothing interesting.
Tim
The content was leaked a while after the source was.
Tim
I think Somethingawful does that on any request that has slashdot as a referrer. I guess they'll just have to use tubgirl now.

I also heard he drew porno comics, although I'm too lazy to look anythign up about it right now.
Tim
This is the second or third time some of my comedic writing has been compared to Douglas Adams. Stop doing that. He's way better than me.
Tim
I rarely work up the energy to be funny anymore.
Tim
I wrote it.
