Out here in east-central Iowa (i.e, the populous part), every other service is terrible except Verizon. US Cellular is OK in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City only, but in between you're screwed. Plus, I need to make Chicago calls and it wasn't included in the regional plan, only the national plan...doesn't work for me. Meanwhile, I can use my Verizon phone in my cement bunker-esque office building and even in the Amana Colonies (think Amish, only not). I've found about a 3 mile strech between my home and the Colonies where my phone doesn't work, and that's IT. Their customer service is as good as I've had from ANY telecom (wireless or otherwise), since I've been old enough to have my own phone service (that's about 6 years).
Being a former MCI employee when they were still viewed as reputable, nothing tweaks my girdle more than giving my money to a Ma Bell offshoot, believe me. The only justification I can use other than service for going through them is that I got a great deal through my brother-in-law who works for Motorola (Two V710's for $50 each and a contract that's $10 cheaper per month with 50 more minutes per month than the consumer ones). I looked really hard at ANYBODY else when I went contract shopping a couple of months ago, and sadly, no one compared to Verizon (even when considering their consumer grade contracts).
Having formerly been an auto insurance agent, I can tell you that this is not exactly true. My company worked on basically a three-tier system in every state that it could: Preferred, Standard, High Risk.
Drivers in the Preferred category could get a non-reckless driving speeding ticket, and it didn't count against them. Drivers in the other categories...are in there for a reason, and accumulating speeding tickets isn't demonstrating improved driving habits.
The thing is, insurance companies have to justify underwriting criteria. They have to be able to prove to the insurance commissioner that charging x dollars for a speeding ticket makes the rates more fair. And there is some discrimination that is always illegal, such as different rates by race (they can get around this by being able to charge different rates based on your zip code, but that's another topic for another day).
I would agree with that, when it comes to craft/micro beer. There are good British beers but there are far more, far better beers in the USA. Anymore, the USA is better than even Belgium and Germany.
MS formats are barely, if at all documented. Proprietary standard is an oxymoron, akin to jumbo shrimp. It can't be a "true" standard if it is proprietary, just a de facto one.
How is a *nix A/V product a "redundant line" for MS? Or in other words, what MS *nix A/V product is MS keeping in favor of this one? Further, a *nix A/V product does not compete with a MS A/V product anymore than MS Office for Windows would compete with MS Office for Linux. Would a bookseller selling German language Bibles be cannibalizing their own market by selling English language ones?
My sister-in-law's wedding photographer sucked, but got one thing right: amateur photography OK, but they can't take shots of the pro poses. Get your own poses, take candids, but if the hired photographer has scenes and people arranged, the guests could not also take photos of these poses.
He can't answer that, because he feels there aren't any; he's attempting to relate to those who DO feel that way. He could at best only guess what liberties are non-essential to those he's trying to relate.
That's just it though: Do what you need to do and we will sort things out later.
I would rather someone break the law to save lives in a terrorist attack, then to "relax" the laws to make previously unlawful activity lawful. Just like stealing is a crime, but a starving person stealing food at times has a blind eye turned towards it.
The issue here is burden of proof. I feel that our governmental officials need to remain accountable for actions taken, and need to be able to justify any actions taken that cause others inconvenience or death. That is the essence of freedom as the Founding Fathers thought about it.

Next time you come this way, check out www.beeradvocate.com for some recommendations.
I don't disagree. Let me rephrase:
There is a higher quantity and variety of above average and top quality in the USA than any other country in the world.
You won't catch me knocking on the very best that Germany and Belgium have to offer!

It disturbs me to know that people (MS?) are working this hard to dig up dirt on him...
No he's saying that just because rape and molestation are illegal in the US, doesn't mean they have to be illegal in China.
Not the same, but just as bad.
Please, don't give him any ideas for "revisions"....
Brayne Strips!

You make a good router. That's great. Who's router is OK for Joe CD-ROM-is-a-cupholder, or say for me, because I doubt you'll come build one for me?
So who makes good routers? You failed to mention that in your post. Perhaps because it's just a troll/flamebait?
The Flash.

In what way?
Another case of the Slashdotter failing to read the next line of the post.
For your benefit, here is the relevant answer to his/her own question: "Nope".
Good job ignoring the word "most" and neglecting to read the 2nd sentence.
I own an Epson, BTW.
Probably because print heads don't last forever and most printer manufacturers include those built-in to the cartridges.
For those that don't, sounds like a good idea.
Not about parent's own post, about parent vs. grandparent. Tupac cannot possibly be the best rapper NOW.

It's "insightful" because it gives "insight" to the mindset of those who are in our government and writing this law.
This is the same reason I use it. I also use it to rip audio from concert DVD's so I can listen to it on my CD player. I hope that's fair use :D
You need to pay attention to your tenses, mister.
