The only reason that i purchased another Sony Ericsson phone after having the T68i was because of BlueTooth. Apple is a big supporter of Bluetooth as well so my T616 and G4 Powerbook integrated perfectly. I guess this will be my last Ericsson phone now. Time to go for the Treo 650 with bluetooth around XMAS time.
Third party notifications will cause Google to loose money on their adsense revenue. Simply put, if i was in google's position I would do something similar. Coincidently, some sites, like mine, rely on adsense revenue in order to stay online/stay as a free service. Thankfully, adsense pays well enough by people visiting a site and clicking on a link that it is a viable solution if you have a target audience (like the stock market or whatever).
I've also heard rumors of people making $50/click off of adsense which is absurd! Hence, why Google wants every dime they can get!
A book entitled "The Alchemist." Basically, a short story about following omens and doing what you really want in life, etc. Maybe finding something you didn't know existed that could make everything better.
A quick 3-4 hour read that is definitely worth it.
Someday, I hope that Larry Ellison has the sweet taste of victory over Gates. Although, he did get too feel that "pleasure center" of his brain tweaked once in the late 90's when Oracle's stock price overtook that of MSFT.
Pretty soon Gates will come out and say that the newly designed Kernel is not going to be complete, and they'll be selling XP Longhorn Edition. This is almost as bad as ID.
Drive fried... I was a big fan of my ximeta drive, I used it strictly for backup purposes. 3months later, the drive just died. Just one user's experience. Also, it isn't very mac/linux friendly unless you put sometime into it or like annoying messages.
Soon, cell phones will be our only portable electronic. They will have mp3 capability, huge 100GB+ flash cards, now TV, and probably an output port. Connect the output port upto a docking station, and you'll be good to go.
The other good thing about this is for Wall St. professionals, they can now watch CNBC/Bloomberg from their phones while in transit.

Google's adsense technology will ultimately grow outside of the Internet realm and include instant advertising during movies, tv shows, billboards, etc. Imagine that you are watching a movie on NBC without commercials, but whenever someone says the word "soda" an ad streams across for Coke/Pepsi. Maybe Google will grow into that realm of advertising.
Second, as reported on my website Google's stock price is still fairly attractive from a P/E basis. If Google stays on track to grow for the rest of the year, Google should be valued more than Yahoo, which could mean the stock should still be attractive above $100.
I heard a rumor awhile back about Microsoft purchasing Nintendo, does anyone have any links relating to this?
Also, their patent is for "league gaming" et al., and it may be possible to apply that methodology to online poker rooms. Is it possible that the patents will cover certain types of online gambling as well as actual games?
My own analysis that was posted on GroupShares.com valued Google at $80/share back a few weeks ago. I'm pretty happy with the analysis that I performed. Maybe GOOG will close at this price today.
I've used Craig's List in order to seek investment capital for a new company. I've received more responses from my posting on the list then any other attempt. Does anyone have any statistics on the amount of page views or posts per day?
Im stuck using WAP when im on the road for monitoring stock trades for my company, but the reaction times/load times are just ridiculous. 5 minutes to load one page.. jesus. If reaction times were instant but data speeds were slow, im sure a lot more people would join on the WAP bus. Second, the cost. AT&T charges damn close to $7 for 1 meg of transfer per month, that will never sell the the consumer audience.
Bill Gates is a very sharp/shrewd business man and that is why he took Microsoft as high as he did. As far as being an innovator/programmer I do not respect him, but his skills at business are nearly unrivaled in the history of the market.

Side scrolling fighters like MK won't benefit from this as you need to always slide your fingers through all the buttons as fast as possible in order to pull of fatalities! This is my game.
Like most people ready for the Google IPO, I am expecting the IPO to come in at the low end of the range. By Google giving common shares as payment, Google is not going to be hurt by the deal only the investors. It is almost like $200-$300M of investors money will be used to pay for this lawsuit right away. Even more reasons for us day traders to short the hell out of GOOG.
As a trader myself, I have seen the message boards of my company have been on fire over the past months regarding Google. there is really no purpose to the IPO. For one, Google has enough money to do what they need to do. What is this influx of capital going to be used for besides making the shareholders more rich? Second, why are they demanding share prices in the $100 range when Ebay/Yahoo (company's with more value) are priced significantly less than that? Seems like it is a good get-rich off-of wall st. quick scheme that could piss even more investors in America off if the price drops like a rock. I for one as a day trader, will not be purchasing GOOG for a long time. Aj
I recently switched to a Treo as I need net 24/7 in order to trade Stocks. So, i picked up a treo, and i love the thing. Sadly, I wish i would've waited for the bluetooth model, which is coming out in December (i think). Then it will be ebay time for this puppy.
Different work places have different work ethics. I work for a certain big company in SiValley, and I run a stock company on the side. Since the market closes by 1pm PT, I have at least 5 more hours of work aside from just monitoring the market every morning.
I think that in California this work type of work ethic is enjoyed where as in New York any deviation from work would be reprimanded. Similar to the dress codes as well.
Does anyone know the logistics of where they placed the access points? Were they connected to telephone polls or traffic lights? How about weather? Michigan does get snow and if the access points are outside, what type of protection do they have. Finally, if one access point crashes do the rest break as well?

I was reading Apple's reply in the Wall St. Journal this morning, and Apple mentioned just making the software not play those files by default. However, this would excite the open source community in my mind to "hacking the iPod" for themselves.

I wonder what would happen if OSX 10.1 was left wide open. Anyone still run this OS and can comment?

Don't forget that people were also able to burn games for the dreamcast without the use of modchips.
