Why I got modded down. I didn't say anything about banning the gambling devices. The summary is worded like all internet cafes are banned. Places where you go and can surf the web. I know that isn't the case because I read the article.
Yeah, the summary in this is pretty awful. That is like saying, we are going to ban cars because people might use them for something other than driving. How about, let's ban Baseball Bats, because people use them for assault rather than baseball.
That this is a really really bad idea. Attempting to catch an asteroid that is near earth. What happens if you make a mistake and the thing comes crashing to Earth? I could see the news, "Well folks, in the attempt at catching the Asteroid it is now aimed to strike New York. If you think the economy was bad before....."
I was in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait in June of 2010 and the thermostats showed it was 138. Maybe it was because it was a Air Base and had a lot of planes? Anyway, the lack of humidity there meant the heat wasn't that bad. I've felt absolutely horrible in the Southern USA when the temperature was only in the 90s. There it was in the 130s and it was hot but not unbearably so. I guess the lack of humidity meant that your sweat actually worked better?
This doesn't surprise me. People will go to great lengths to get their money. My wife recently got bit by a tick. She went to the doc and they did a bunch of tests and determined she has lyme disease. They sent her to a specialist and the specialist said there was no lyme disease. We paid the doctor bill anyway. One thing we didn't pay right away was the cost for one of the labs done on her. It was $8.11. We completely forgot about it but they ended up sending it to a collection agency and wanted to take us to court, for $8.11. Naturally when I read the letter I just paid the bill, after all it is only $8.11, but to take someone to court over it? Wouldn't the lawyer costs for the company cost way more than the $8.11?
SMS has some good uses but it is a device put out there to milk money from customers. I use to work for a cell phone company that will remain nameless for the time being. They said to their customers that SMS had to be on, you can't turn it off. You would get charged for SMS messages even from the phone company and you can't stop people from sending you one. You get charged 10 cent for each SMS. That was a blatant lie. In fact in their cell tower make up you can assign options to allow/disallow certain features. Infact one of the most common problems people faced would be that SMS stopped working. To fix it, we brought up the program for the cell towers and what usually happened is when their phone registered with the cell tower SMS had somehow been disabled. It was a simple check box to fix it.
Intelligence isn't something that happens over night. They may not mess up their biosphere on the night we glance at it but that doesn't mean they didn't before.
That is has taken this long for a work-a-round. If Netflix streamed all the porn you could want, then I'll be there would have been a work-a-round a lot sooner
That people are going to take this interview and run with it. The Woz is saying he likes hardware. He uses all types and gives it a unbiased review. He said he can see Microsoft being more innovative than Apple. That is all. He isn't saying Apple is doomed and Microsoft is the new king. I think The Woz is a great guy as i've said before in another post and this is another great review from someone who loves hardware and not companies.
REALLY?!?!?!?! This is news? A company, who thinks they are in the right. A company that won their case in the USA. Has made it hard to see a apology ordered by a court in the UK makes the apology hard to see without scrolling? There goes the world. EVERY COMPANY that makes a EULA that you have to agree to to use their application/game is in the same boat. Even Linux makes you scroll through a agreement, the GPL. You have to scroll to get the apology. Ugh why am I even wasting my time. It must be the booze.
Really, how can you abuse DNT? OMG! That browser allows that person to surface completely anonymously, thats abuse of the DNT system. Users shouldn't be allowed to be completely anonymous. IE10's DNT feature isn't the user's intent? Hmmm I click a button or use a switch that enables Do Not Track. That doesn't mean I don't want to be tracked though. I don't know what i'm doing. I just like hitting buttons.
I'm pretty sure there is a whole lot more to it than this but seriously? The way the summary is worded, yahoo is saying we are all idiots and don't know options that we want and not being able to be tracked is a abuse of power.
Come at me, Bro!
I don't think, we will be duped again.
Now geeks will never leave the terminal

Lightworks is coming soon to Linux, nuff said
Saints Row IV is Announced, if you run this across Google Translator it translate to Cash Cow is getting Milked.
I posted this, I didn't mean to post as Anonymous, I was on another computer and thought I was already logged in.
I think there was a debate about this already, a meteorite from Mars found in Antarctica that had fossilized microbial bacteria

Where have you been? NVIDIA has been working on drivers for linux for a long time now. Their 310 series drivers work great with my 660 GTX.
I am wondering about this myself
This is great for all us computer geeks who have dreamed of being sniper assassins. Even my sniper rifle runs linux!

When I don't have MOD points, I read posts like this and regret it, someone MOD this guy up.
my wife really isn't into tech stuff, and never comes to /. Though we did live in Mannheim germany for a while, that might let you know who we are.
