Why I got modded down. I didn't say anything about banning the gambling devices. The summary is worded like all internet cafes are banned. Places where you go and can surf the web. I know that isn't the case because I read the article.

  5. The summary... on Florida House Passes Bill To Ban "Internet Cafes" · · Score: 1

Yeah, the summary in this is pretty awful. That is like saying, we are going to ban cars because people might use them for something other than driving. How about, let's ban Baseball Bats, because people use them for assault rather than baseball.

I was in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait in June of 2010 and the thermostats showed it was 138. Maybe it was because it was a Air Base and had a lot of planes? Anyway, the lack of humidity there meant the heat wasn't that bad. I've felt absolutely horrible in the Southern USA when the temperature was only in the 90s. There it was in the 130s and it was hot but not unbearably so. I guess the lack of humidity meant that your sweat actually worked better?

  15. People are serious about their money on Hurt Locker Studio Begins Requesting Canadian ISP's Subscriber Info · · Score: 1

This doesn't surprise me. People will go to great lengths to get their money. My wife recently got bit by a tick. She went to the doc and they did a bunch of tests and determined she has lyme disease. They sent her to a specialist and the specialist said there was no lyme disease. We paid the doctor bill anyway. One thing we didn't pay right away was the cost for one of the labs done on her. It was $8.11. We completely forgot about it but they ended up sending it to a collection agency and wanted to take us to court, for $8.11. Naturally when I read the letter I just paid the bill, after all it is only $8.11, but to take someone to court over it? Wouldn't the lawyer costs for the company cost way more than the $8.11?

  16. SMS is garbage on Happy (Early) Bday! :) SMS Txt Msgs Turn 20 · · Score: 1

SMS has some good uses but it is a device put out there to milk money from customers. I use to work for a cell phone company that will remain nameless for the time being. They said to their customers that SMS had to be on, you can't turn it off. You would get charged for SMS messages even from the phone company and you can't stop people from sending you one. You get charged 10 cent for each SMS. That was a blatant lie. In fact in their cell tower make up you can assign options to allow/disallow certain features. Infact one of the most common problems people faced would be that SMS stopped working. To fix it, we brought up the program for the cell towers and what usually happened is when their phone registered with the cell tower SMS had somehow been disabled. It was a simple check box to fix it.

That people are going to take this interview and run with it. The Woz is saying he likes hardware. He uses all types and gives it a unbiased review. He said he can see Microsoft being more innovative than Apple. That is all. He isn't saying Apple is doomed and Microsoft is the new king. I think The Woz is a great guy as i've said before in another post and this is another great review from someone who loves hardware and not companies.

Has made it hard to see a apology ordered by a court in the UK makes the apology hard to see without scrolling? There goes the world. EVERY COMPANY that makes a EULA that you have to agree to to use their application/game is in the same boat. Even Linux makes you scroll through a agreement, the GPL. You have to scroll to get the apology. Ugh why am I even wasting my time. It must be the booze.

IE10's DNT feature isn't the user's intent? Hmmm I click a button or use a switch that enables Do Not Track. That doesn't mean I don't want to be tracked though. I don't know what i'm doing. I just like hitting buttons. I'm pretty sure there is a whole lot more to it than this but seriously? The way the summary is worded, yahoo is saying we are all idiots and don't know options that we want and not being able to be tracked is a abuse of power.
