Try using the weapon re-balance that comes with the 700MB high quality texture pack someone made. Head shots always kill, about 3-5 body shots to kill. this applies Gordon vs Combine or Combine vs. Gordon.
With a fully charged HEV and full health you can't be in the open when a combine airship is attacking for more then maybe one swipe assuming most shots miss you.
Makes the game much harder to survive and quite a challenge (it pays to be more accurate then anything else).
"Priuses stall in intersections and peoples lives are in danger. "
The only stalling issues the Prius had was with the 2004 model where some bad software/firmware was causing the ICE to cut off, often while cruising on the highway. You still had battery power and could get off the road if that happened.
As for "stalling at intersections" the hybrid system shuts off the ICE when there is no need for it's power and starts it back up when demand outstrips what the battery system can supply. At no time is anyones life in more danger then if they were in any other vehicle stopped at an intersection.
Having both a Fish Called Wanda and Dangerous Creatures on Laser Disk (DVD wasn't in existance when I was looking for better then VHS media), I think I find Dangerous Creatures a more entertaining story. Wanda was good, don't get me wrong, for some reason it just feels like the cast had more fun and was working together better on Dangerous Creatures.
Club Dread was a pretty good (for what it was) B grade slasher flick. You don't go into it expecting a quirky slasher flick, you think "another comedy by Broken Lizard". It was worth it just for the Packman maze.
Sorry to jump in on this, but since I think I understand your desire for DRM I have a few question.
Do you support current DRM strategies? They do not comply with copyright law. By this I am talking about the fact that no DRM system currently in existence will automatically enable all use once copyright is expired. This means anything currently and in the future that has been re-encoded with DRM will be locked away out of the public domain. Much of human history/culture will vanish after the mid 1900 era (it wont be overnight, but over hundreds of years). There is no law to force DRM to comply with copyright and no DRM seems to be being created with complying with copyright in mind.
I have an old HT system, so my setup supports Pro Logic (not PLII). The few PLII games I have seem to do a good enough job generating directional sound on my system. The mix isnt as good as with say a DVD putting out DD or DTS, but when something moves from right to left and back to front, you can track it audiably around you.
Taking a PSX game like um, I think it is Colony Wars, that had regular Pro Logic and on my setup they sound close enough in quality. I suspect you might get better experiance out of PLII if you have PLII gear.
If you have not read the Rama series, don't go past the first book. This is a warning to save you from reading a great book about exploration and discovery, that is utterly undone and then beaten, shat upon, and raped to death (and if your unlucky in that order) by the follow up books. They did have some good, even great moments but something in his collaboration caused the latter books to be unpalatable compared to the first.
After adding one registry entry, now my win2k has the same (as far as I can tell) backwards compatibility features as XP. At least when I tell it to run something in 95 or 98 mode it works for me. Since I can do this I see no reason to upgrade to XP.
The best trick in that game was to rotate a piece into place that caused all the blocks on the screen to become 1x1s and then fall filling any holes and then forming as many silvers as it could (or were they gold in that case?).
If I had points I would mod you up. This is exactly right. During this same time, Laser Disk would go for $40 a pop and be released at the same time as the $100 rental copies. So smart people who wanted movies fast went with that format back then.
Chuck Norris is that you?

I half expected him to say he was "cutting me own throat".
While not a Discworld novel, there is a stop motion version of Truckers.

What, would Bill the Galactic Hero be too politically incorrect?
There are torrents of the Japanese DVD with English subtitles for the scenes you mention.
Why wouldnt they? There was an insane musical number (actually several as I remember) in Red Dwarf.
Watch some Red Dwarf and you can see how important self esteem is to a toaster.
I think he (The Emperor, not the Pope) looks more like Joe Leiberman.
For a good (IMO) rip on the whole "Chosen One" thing and fantasy in general, try playing the new Bards Tale game.

The person responsible for that soundtrack (Neil D Voss A.K.A. Sequencer) also did the soundtrack to "The New Tetris".

"I would also guess that XBox Live users outnumber online PC gamers by a heck of a lot."
You might want to check those numbers.
AFAIK 1 million Xbox Live vs many millions of people on various PC games.
Yes. RvB type humor existed before HALO.
"Single button melee attack. Halo brought the melee attack previously only found in sneaky shadow games like Metal gear to the FPS."
I remember having this in Duke Nukem 3D era games. I think it was bound to the "~" key.
"Linux doesn't offer any 64bit fiberchannel HBAs because the hardware isn't available. "
I call BS. On my driver CD for my LSI44929O I have a set of linux drivers.
You should try Siren some time.
