  1. It's OK ! (Re:hrm....) on Gnome 2.2 Released · · Score: 0, Offtopic

You can laugh at this joke!
    Here's why:

It's Thursday, so we like video games -> we like Blizzard. But it's February, so this is not funny. And the day of the week is even, so we're supposed to not bash Sony and Blizzard. But it was posted AFTER dark, so it's ok to laugh.

Easy enough when u get you're head around it.

Not the internet in itself, just the applications on top of it (IM, e-mail, websites).

An example of this is the organisation of a Highschool-pupil strike in Holland. (Yes, striking in puberty..:) )
The whole project was set up by 3 - 5 people in about 5 days time. It swept the media too, which helpt, but they're main source of communication was e-mail.

On the date of the strike, schools where empty and there was a great big mob of youngsters in The Hague (where the goverment sits).

Hows that for a couple of minors?

Just look at their gopher-era homepage [xfree86.org] to get an impression about their professionality. Yeah, I know, HTML 2.0 should have been the end of web technology, [..]

    DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transition al.dtd

But anyway I do agree, the webpage design is horrible, but it's the program that matters, not the webpage.

The one thing I can't get is the 'XFree is the most supported, so we use it' vibe. I mean, this is OSS so we should just be able to create a new system from the ground up and 'port' all the drivers Xfree has, right?

    Or am I missing something?

deja vu also seems VERY real to people.

Dude, deja vu's CAN be true..for instance, I can actually wander off in my thoughts and *dream* of a situation, that last a few seconds and then I ehm, return to the present. I remember what happend, what was spoken and who were there (besides myself).

And then a (few) month(s) later I find myself in the exact same situation, with the same people and the same words being spoken.

    But you're words:
That's the problem with "memory" - it's subject to revision and addition along the way, just like "history"...

Are still quite correct most of the time.
