Wireless routers should come shipped with a big red tag attached to them expressing the importance of securing their wireless network. New hardware sold today should have at least WEP by default and SSID broadcast turned off. I know that this is not perfect, but hey it is better than a wide open wireless network. I just setup a wireless home/office network and made sure I secured it as well as I can. I got some advice from a techie before I set this network up, but he suggesterd that I should not worry about this type of security because I lived in a single family dwelling. Well needless to say, I DID NOT take his advice.
I did a comparison of both by searching my hometown(in Canada). The MS got 8 hits while Google got 21. The main difference here seems that Google hits were sourced from newspaper web pages and MS hits came mostly from newswire services.
The latest firware upgrade of the WRT54G dissables the afformentioned hack. You have to downgrade to an older firmware to get the "signal booster" hack to work.
If the store would chase you away, then you shop elsewhere. I cannot see a problem with this, especially if it would be used by visually impaired shoppers.
This kind of technology could be caried by the consumer if the a small hand held scanner could scan the UPC on the package and give you the data instead of having to read those small lists of ingredients on the package.
I agree, the lack of a modem is not a big deal as long as the system has a serial port. An external 56k US Robotics modem can be had for very little and does not need any tools to install.
I noticed they gave the Blackberry an honorable mention and its own article, but it should have been on this top 10 list.
It appears you believe all what the NDP and Liberals say about the current government.

I think this is Google pulling our leg!
I agree that CBC has some great programming, but I find many of their radio political commentary to be very biased towards the LEFT(Liberal).
I just hate to see my tax dollars spent on left wing propaganda.

I believe it's the 64 bit nature of the chip that is important to it's success.

I wonder if terrorist will try to adapt this to target cruise ships with explosives?

"Google News Alerts" are great to keep up to speed on a news story or a subject.

Google's Deskbar beats the crap out of any MS search tools and makes them look not as innovative. Buy them before they put us to any more shame.
