Reminds me of a story my grandfather told me about his experience in the South Pacific. Punchline was "You're a dumb kid, that Japanese guy is a dumb kid, and you both stumbled upon each other. You've got nothing against each other, but because of something people thousands of miles away decided, only one of you was going to walk away that day."
The leftist reverence for a proven thug is disgusting. Time to face reality. Your innocent angel strong-arm robbed a store and then attacked a police officer, punching him in the face and tried to grab his gun before finally trying to charge him.
Do you know anything about running a business? In a service industry, people costs are often a huge portion of a company's overall costs. Minor changes in that structure can have major impact on the bottom line.
Even in traditional manufacturing jobs, where a large percent of the costs are tied up in capital and materials, a modest change in employee costs filters through. Just ask GM and Chrysler.
the guy interviewed on 60 Minutes last week, insisting that it was his democratic right to tell a woman to cover herself with a hijab AND expect her to comply,
Well, it IS his democratic right to tell her to do so.
Likewise, it IS his democratic right to expect her to comply.
Whether she actually complies or not, well, that's a question of HER democratic rights....
Note that my own opinion is that she should "comply" by macing him....

If it took your blood on my hands to defend against your attack, so be it. As the saying goes "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6".
How does that thinking scale? I'm too lazy to enter into that discussion.

I'd like to be able to set that as a toggle in my search results for apps.
I am filled with a deep sense of schadenfreude as I watch the US drive itself into the ground.
You oughta temper your glee; we go down, we're taking the whole ball of mud with us.
Wait, slashdot is posting a story about lack of "editing, peer review, and proofreading"? That, good sirs, is irony.
Read some recent history. Ask your dad.
No. I ran out on his mother for a reason.
If gals are attacked simply for being female, you'd have a point.
Sorry. The hashtag isn't #yesallmenexceptgmhowell
Glad to see the concept of 'original sin' is alive and well.
They've already demonstrated themselves to be lazy, incompetent, and largely indifferent to security.
Maybe. Or maybe they're just cheap.
Holy shit. First post (that I can see at my threshold) captures things in their entirety. Are you sure you belong on slashdot?
You can't fix stupid.
You can fire them though.
Not if they're a GS employee.
Expect any posts that point to disappeared posts to be disappeared as well, with the account modbombed into oblivion and permanent '-2' status.
Be careful for what you wish for, please. I'm worried those "flags" might be doing something inappropriate.
But of course they are.
Eleven comments and nothing by the GNAA? There might be hope for slashdot after all.
What happened with newuniversal? Why did it fizzle out? How did it get started?

Preferably with an actual mace.
I suspect that a lot of them were just vacuous celebrities whose publicists arranged to get them a ticket at a discount, as a PR stunt.
Oh come now! No need to be so harsh. JUSTIN BIEBER is on that list!
Somebody should have let him sit in on the most recent test flight.
I've got opinions too. Like that your opinions about people sharing their opinions are dull.
You're saying what we're all thinking when we read your opinions.
In any event, I think we can agree the AC is a moron.
Die in a fire, you anti-hellenic faggot.
But wouldn't faggots be pro-hellenic, or are the stories I heard about 'doing it like Greeks' incorrect?
You had my curiosity, then I read this:
ESR says he'll match funds toward the purchase of the needed hardware, so if you want to help drive him into bankruptcy, now's your chance.
Now you have my attention.
(Not enough to RTFS however. This is Slashdot...)
The US has its own internet. It's called: The Internet.
It's their search engine. Start your own search engine and you will get to decide what's in it.
Blackjack and hookers, duh.
