Like most bullies these guys also usually turn out to be inveterate cowards, they'll stab/shoot you in the back without a thought as long as there's no risk to them, but face up to them, they snivel and whine about how unfair it all is.
In which case I'd expect them to be very keen for youtube to distribute them.
Exporting Dollars is the engine of US jobs.

Government "borrows" money, which creates dollars to be paid to government contractors who pay their suppliers, shareholders and employees.
The reason US inflation hasn't skyrocketed in the past in response is oil. The producers are paid in US dollars which means the rest of the world has to buy these new dollars to pay for their oil, essentially what's happening is that inflation is being exported from the US to the rest of the oil consuming world, or rather, the US economy is heavily subsidised by the oil consuming world. With the falling dollar though and corresponding reduction in the value of their dollar holdings, some are switching those dollar holdings to alternative currencies so less of that inflation is being exported and the falling dollar accelerates. Prices appear to increase correspondingly.
You will have noticed inflation and interest rates increasing.
Increased trade with China is a good thing for China, the chinese and the rest of the world. It creates a wealthy middle class who are no longer reliant on the government and who will want more political influence on how they are governed. This will have a far larger impact on the political reform than isolationism, which simply cements dictatorships in place.
Lets see, continuing control of world oil supplies (and with that the American Way), increase control of local populations, increased money for the military industrial complex and a wider rich poor divide.
What'd be good is if he could come up with a way of guaranteeing the sole allegiance of the political elite was to their electorate.
You can use terminal services for any of those difficult to replace applications, open office has been good enough for 90%+ of users, the web, mail services are frankly better, more scalable and reliable, the hardest bit historically has been calendaring/scheduling, easily solved with a decent web groupware system.
Only while people like you continue sitting on your arse doing nothing but insisting that the status quo is the best that can be expected. Politics is a participation sport.
instead of choosing the better of the two candidates available
You're making the assumption that it matters which of the two main parties you vote for, the policies remain the same. The biggest difference seems to be the way they want to pay for things, either taxation or inflation.
They were thrown up by the US government to distract people from the battery advances that have been coming through and to give the oil companies another 15 years. There are batteries here now which'll charge in 15 mins, drive a car 200 miles or so and last three quarters of a million miles.
Hydrogen fuel cells, filling stations simply don't make sense in comparison.
Is that by stripping the DRM, they're actually supporting the iTunes model and therefore the record labels because people will continue to buy from them instead of switching to the non DRM competition.
It's the same reason MS don't come down too hard on piracy of their OS and office suites. It actually supports their business.
Pander to the site groupthink for a few weeks to get your relation weight with a few influential members up to near the maximum
No, in the case of the system I mentioned, what you suggest only works for those who follow the particular subgroup you've been pandering to. You would actually reduce your influence with the rest of the population by pandering to that group in the first place.
Register a new account, lather, rinse, and repeat as necessary.
Only works if you can abandon an identity. Fairly easy but controversial to fix.
...is it any time anyone criticizes capitalism, it turns into "what's your suggestion?"
Simply because capitalism is the natural result of any interaction between people which involves a trade. Now there are somethings wrong with the monetary system and corporate law we have but it isn't to do with capitalism.
What you're complaining about is the Limited company, where the owners and executives are largely insulated from the legal and financial repercussions of their actions. Again, that's a problem with democracy and the law, not capitalism.
Does it really matter what set of rules you come up with? I can't think of any system that can't be abused
I can. You create a web of reputation.
Every relationship between two individuals has a reputation or weight. As people interact the weights between them get stronger or weaker. Give preference to stories which are recommended by people with a strong reputation with you, get rid of stories recommended by people with a weak reputation. As they decide to like/dislike stories the weights change. As someone attempts to manipulate the system they will simply reduce the weights they have with other individuals and reduce their own influence.
Not easy to do mind you, it's an n^2 problem. Hmm, n^2 problems can often be simplified by cutting them in half, what's needed is a reputation server.
Indeed. If they get clever enough, their reputation system will show you the stuff that the people you trust the most have recommended and will dump the stuff recommended by people you consider fuckwits. After all, who wants something that a complete moron has recommended. Incidentally, this is how all reputation systems should work, attempting to game the system will then simply move you out into the middle of nowhere in terms of your own personal reputation.
I'd suggest some form of least squares regression, but it might be better to get a statistician in to come up with something rigorous.
As a wise man once said: "Capitalism is the notion that evil men, doing evil things, will bring about the greatest good...." Or something to that effect....
Whoever said that was a fool, not a wise man. Capitalism has never been anything to do with right, wrong, good or evil, it's about self interest. It's human nature and will happen no matter what type of society we have. What do you propose as an alternative?
Like most bullies these guys also usually turn out to be inveterate cowards, they'll stab/shoot you in the back without a thought as long as there's no risk to them, but face up to them, they snivel and whine about how unfair it all is.
There's a good description here, it fits a couple of people I know.

Your experience is quite normal and it explains why 90% of journeys continue to be by means other than conventional public transport.

Of course with a Brompton foldup bicycle you could do the 2 miles to the bus stop in about 8 mins.

But computers are not new and exciting any more. They are commodity machines which provide standard services which you pay for.
The basic process isn't going to be too different.
Your local government or national government should have one.
In the UK that would be Business Gateway/Business Link:

What I'm saying is. Tough cheese.
And single sign on.

It'll be the poor vs the rich, and it's called a revolution rather than a civil war.
Intentional changes are patented. They'll get you 0wned.

What? This isn't anything to do with capitalism, it's the political system and the law.
So what's your suggestion to replace capitalism, because it's going to have to force people to part with their goods and services somehow.
You defeat terrorists through intelligence and ideology.
Canada is compliant. Venezuela will precede Canada. Oh, look they're having political problems...
